On a lovely vantage point upon a hill above the Cornish town of Fowey sits this beautiful apartment for six. Part of an old Victorian building that’s less than a 10 minute walk from the waterfront, this apartment offers families and groups of friends a delightful stay by the sea.
The huge bay windows in the living room flood the social space with natural light and offer lovely views out over the water. This space also features a wood burner to ensure that you can stay cosy and warm all year round as well as a TV that’s ideal for movie nights. The lounge also features two seats in front of the bay window and some binoculars, so you can sit and gaze out at the boats bobbing on the water.
The lounge backs onto a stylish kitchen/diner that has a chunky six-seater dining table that makes meal times a delight. You also have a nicely equipped kitchen with everything you need to whip up a feast using locally sourced ingredients. The kitchen has an Aga Rangemaster cooker, a Bosch fridge freezer, a Bosch dishwasher, a microwave and a Dualit kettle toaster. There’s also a fab Kitchenaid Espresso coffee machine which allows you to start the day in style! To top it off, guests are also provided with a welcome food hamper on arrival that is full to the brim with delicious Cornish treats.
The apartment has three superb bedrooms that all offer guests a great night’s sleep. The master bedroom features a gorgeous bay window that overlooks the estuary as well as a big, king size brass bed, a premium organic wool mattress and some delightful, ornate furnishings. There’s also a twin room that features three-foot cast iron bedsteads and premium woollen mattresses, which has its own ensuite shower room for added privacy. And finally, the bunk room is ideal for kids.
When it comes to outdoor space, the apartment features a nice glass-fronted balcony that sits at the front of the property and offers fabulous, 180 degree views of the water. There’s also a terrace at the rear of the property that is shared with guests staying in another apartment. This is a fantastic spot for an alfresco meal in summer thanks to its Big Green Egg and outdoor furniture.
There’s plenty to see and do in the local area and Fowey itself is a pretty seaside town that offers an array of fab bistros, cosy pubs, quirky cafés and fine dining restaurants that line the waterfront. You’re also nicely placed to visit one of a number of fantastic beaches in the local area, which include Readymoney Cove and Polkerris beach which overlooks St Austell Bay. You also have good access to Charlestown beach, Kynance Cove, and Watergate Bay.
