This 400 year old former drover’s inn has a wealth of elegance and charm. With Yorkshire flagstone floors, log burning stoves and a truly luxurious finish, it really makes the perfect place to escape and relax. And with an abundance of walks, cycle routes and charming villages to discover, there’s plenty to keep you busy.
The welcome is instantly warm with a large hallway that comes complete with a comfortable seating area. With painted beams, lovely views and a cosy log burner it really does make a lovely first impression.
The formal dining room with its elegant window seat, beamed ceilings and nicely upholstered chairs sets the scene for memorable dinners no matter what the occasion. The dining room opens out onto the cosiest of sitting rooms with its impressive fireplace, log burning stove and comfortable sofas. While away an evening watching television or indulge your more competitive side by raiding the games cupboard.
The farmhouse kitchen boasts an inglenook log stove, beautiful oak worktops and handsome flagstone floors. And the pretty dining table is a great spot to enjoy a full English breakfast or simple lunch. Well equipped with all you need, there’s a dishwasher, induction hob, fridge, freezer, range cooker and the all-important coffee machine.
Upstairs there are two king-size ensuite bedrooms. Both have elegant sleigh beds exquisitely dressed in soft Egyptian cotton and sumptuous throws. With beamed ceilings and wonderful views out over the moorland, you’ll feel truly spoilt. And the bathrooms are both sparkling clean and come with fluffy towels and luxurious Temple Spa toiletries.
Outside there is a charming seating area with a table and chairs. Pull up a seat and enjoy the fab views out over the surrounding moorland.
With walks and cycle routes from the door it is easy to get on to the popular Cleveland Way - head east and this fabulous moorland walk will deliver you directly to the dramatic Yorkshire coastline. Situated near the pretty village of Osmotherly, with its village store, cafe and cosy pubs, means you don’t need to go far to stock up on supplies. And, if you fancy a night off from cooking, there’s even a fish and chip shop.
Head a little further and you’ll be rewarded with the handsome market town of Helmsley. This fabulous town boasts a Norman castle, vibrant shops, excellent restaurants and even its own micro-brewery. If you’re there on a Friday be sure to head to the weekly market held on its delightful cobbled square.
