Caban Du

Tucked away in the peaceful countryside of mid-Wales, Caban Du is a luxurious cabin created by an award-winning design studio. Inspired by Scandinavian style and with sustainability at the heart of the design, the cabin is hidden away in ancient woodland with minimal impact on the surroundings. This is a lovely spot for couples to unwind and reconnect with nature, well away from the hustle and bustle. Wake up to the sounds of the birds in the woods and enjoy a cup of coffee out on the balcony, surrounded by the trees. Head out for a stroll in the beautiful Welsh countryside or explore the nearby market town of Llanfyllin. Back at the cabin, relax in the hot tub with a glass of something as you watch the sunset through the trees.

Step inside and you’ll find the living space feels bright and airy with plenty of natural light filtering in past the tree canopy through floor-to-ceiling windows. This makes a lovely spot to while away the morning with a cup of coffee, browsing the books and magazines. During the warmer months, open up the doors out onto the balcony and let in some of that fresh countryside air. The balcony has glass railings so you’ll still be able to enjoy the views through the trees and out to the surrounding farmland as you sit out with a book or go for a dip in the hot tub.

There’s a contemporary kitchen equipped with everything you’ll need for rustling up romantic dinners or preparing food for the BBQ outside. Move through to the bedroom where you’ll find a relaxing space with a luxurious king size bed and a freestanding bathtub. After a long soak in the bath, fluffy towels and robes will be waiting for you and there’s also an ensuite shower room for added convenience.

Caban Du is a lovely spot to escape from it all with the surrounding woodlands bursting with all sorts of flora and fauna all year round. Sit out on the balcony or go for a stroll through the old oaks and hazel trees on the lookout for buzzards, woodpeckers and even red kites soaring above. In the spring, wild rhododendrons provide plenty of colour while winter brings with it beautiful frosts glistening over the neighbouring farmland. If you fancy a change of scene, it’s just a 20-minute walk to the nearest shops, restaurants and food markets. Nearby Llanfyllin is well worth exploring with a medieval church and galleries showcasing local crafts. Venture a little further into the countryside and go for a walk in the Berwyn Mountains, stopping off at the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall along the way.
