Burnhead Bothy is a sustainable timber-framed hideaway designed to make the most of its wonderfully peaceful location. Inside, the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space is warm and inviting, with a comfortable sofa bed and wood burning stove creating a cosy place to relax after a day in the hills. The fully equipped kitchen has a gas hob, oven and small fridge, so you can rustle up hearty breakfasts and easy evening meals before heading outside for a moonlit soak.
When it’s time for bed, there’s a separate double bedroom with a cosy sheep’s wool duvet, while the bathroom has a rainfall shower and flushing toilet. The sofa bed provides additional sleeping space, meaning the cabin can accommodate up to four guests.
Outside is where this retreat really comes into its own. A large deck wraps around two sides of the bothy, providing a front-row seat to the surrounding countryside. Bring your morning coffee outside as sheep graze nearby, enjoy long alfresco lunches in the fresh air or pour yourself a drink and slip into the outdoor bath as darkness falls. On especially clear days, you can even see the tops of the mountains on the Isle of Arran.

Just back from an amazing stay at Burnhead bothy as a belated gift for my BF's 50th. All I can say is wow!! The bothy is nestled on the side of a hill with fantastic views. It feels like you are almost in the middle of nowhere. The only neighbours were sheep, with their lambs, and cow. The bothy is beautifully decorated with comfy furniture, it's cosy inside and out. The lovely deck is a suntrap and the best spot to enjoy the panoramic views. The hosts have thought of everything you need for your stay and were very helpful in answering any queries . We were lucky to arrive after the recent addition of an outside bath. Having a bath as the sun set was the highlight of my trip! My friend said that the trip was one of the most relaxing breaks she's had since having children!! I can't praise this highly enough and I'd definitely book a stay at Burnhead bothy again!!!!
