The Details...

Head out into rural Scotland but with views across the hills towards Glasgow at Burnhead Bothy. This sustainable holiday home is located on the 1600-acre Burnhead Farm that is the home to Highland cattle and Swiss Valais sheep.

The off grid bothy sleeps up to 4 people and is the perfect option for a quiet and relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. 3 large solar panels provide all the electricity required for the timber frame building and while there are no power sockets, there are USB points for charging a phone or laptop. This eco-mindset is present throughout Burnhead Bothy, with sheeps wool providing the insulation, while water comes from a private spring.

The open plan kitchen, dining, and living room is the focal point of the house. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob, oven, and a fridge. Meanwhile, there is a dining table and chairs for 4 people and a comfortable sofa bed sitting in front of the wood burning stove. All of this is framed by a huge glass wall that opens out onto the large outdoor decked area that looks out over the countryside beyond. Elsewhere on the 1 level of the bothy is a double bedroom with sheeps wool duvets and a bathroom with an electric shower and a flushing toilet.
