Make the most of Devon’s coast and countryside at this beautifully styled farm retreat - just a short drive from Totnes and Dartmoor National Park
There are so many reasons you may be tempted to head to Brownscombe Cabin for your next break. Hidden away in the South Devon countryside, just a few miles from Totnes, Torquay and Dartmoor, its location is just one of them. This romantic hideaway has stunning valley views too.
Yes, Brownscombe Cabin is ideal for two, but there’s also room for two children, who can settle into bunk beds in a private den of their own in the main living area. It’s cosy inside with a wood-burner and kitchen including a hob, fridge and Belfast sink.
You can dine out on the covered deck as you admire the surroundings, and there’s a fire-pit barbecue and outdoor seating area with designer garden chairs for some serious relaxing. The whole place has been designed with great style – you are bound to love the free-standing copper bath. It’s big enough for two and, if you slide back the bathroom door, it will feel like you’re bathing in the fresh air.
The immaculate master bedroom is another sensory treat, and has direct access outside. Dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets and soft-to-the-touch bedding, this wood-panelled room is one to linger in. You have plenty of storage space for clothes and bits and pieces, as well as plug sockets and USB charging points.
The Cabin is part of the Brownscombe glamping site, yet is very much separate from the other properties. It is still close enough for you to make use of the small onsite shop, however… you can stock up on essential items and order some great meals, including your breakfast (traditional English, veggie or continental).
Alongside it is the Brownscombe Lodge, where you are welcome to stop by to enjoy tea, coffee, hot chocolate and free Wi-Fi – or even book the place for an evening meal. The menus are full of delicious local produce, so don’t miss out on the chance to eat here. For the family, there’s a games room with pool, table tennis, games and DVDs – or maybe they would rather get out on the farm and see the pigs, ducks and chickens.
The coast around this area offers some of England’s finest beaches, with surfing and paddle-boarding amongst the water-sports you could try. Elsewhere, the county is full of family-friendly attractions like Paignton Zoo and Pennywell Farm, as well as more fine places to eat – from Michelin Star to rustic pub. The nearest, The Bickley Mill, is within walking distance of Brownscombe and comes highly recommended.
With fantastic walks on your doorstep, Brownscombe Cabin is the perfect place to get active or simply chill… either way, you’re going to love it.
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 2 nights low season & 3 nights high season
