The details

Set on a small holding in Wales, Bramble cottage is the middle house that forms part of a longhouse. Re-opened in 2021 it's perfect for a romantic getaway and actively welcomes one happy pooch! On arrival meet some of the resident chickens, ducks, the two sheep Seren and Eti, and of course, Meg the dog! If you've brought your own furry friend this is going to be an absolute treat for all concerned.

The front door is enclosed by a wooden porch and opens to an entrance hall for coats and shoes and a pretty seating area. Wooden floorboards are evident throughout the property and much of the furniture is up-cycled, re-purposed or made from reclaimed wood, giving the cottage a cosy but cool modern vibe.

You'll find the bedroom and a spacious living room on the first floor with a door leading out to a garden with six foot high fencing to ensure complete privacy. The bedroom has a floating king-size bed which nestles under a sky-light and the décor is simple and elegant. The living room has a comfy sofa, stripped floorboards, ceiling beams and a big TV for movie nights curled up under a blanket. The door to the right leads out to the garden and the piece de resistance, a wood fired hot tub! Grab some champagne and head out for an evening soak when the stars are high in the sky. Why not light the fire pit too and listen to the crackle of logs as you soak away?

The cottage is full of unique touches and the kitchen is particularly lovely with its wood accents and eclectic tile wall. In here you'll find everything you'll need to cook up a feast for you and your partner and if you want to go the extra mile you can arrange for Myrddin Heritage to deliver a fabulous hamper full of local produce. You can also arrange a delivery of local seasonal flowers, just speak to the owners when you book. There's a cute little dining table for two, or if the weather is good, why not sit at the bijou table in the garden, also a fab spot for that first morning coffee?

As if all of this wasn't enough, you'll also be delighted by the luxurious bathroom which boasts two river rock stone sinks and a four jet walk-in shower where you can blast the sleep away and get ready to explore the area. You'll find award winning Blue Flag beaches along the coastline of Cardigan Bay, all of which welcome dogs. New Quay is a favourite and is only 11 miles away. Go on a dolphin spotting boat trip before treating yourself to the best fish and chips at The Lime Crab and an ice cream from Crem Pen Cei.

Water sports, gin tasting, fishing and more are all available within a short driving distance but if you're aiming for a more laid back and lazy break there's some gorgeous pubs to enjoy and some delicious food to eat. The Daffodil in Penrhiwllan does a fantastic Sunday roast and you can even get it to take away. The Coopers Arms is a lovely pub and you should definitely check out The Moody Cow Farm shop and Bistro in Llwyncelyn!

Great few days away - and very lucky with the weather

The cottage couldn't be lovelier. The attention to detail, the quality of the shower, the bed... and the creativity in the wood work was all very impressive. Both Clare and Tim were welcoming and helpful. But the best was the hot tub!
