The details

Tucked away in the heart of St Ives and just a short stroll from the harbour and beautiful sandy beaches, Bluebell Cottage is a charming coastal retreat that puts you right at the centre of one of Cornwall’s most beloved seaside towns. Full of character and thoughtfully refurbished throughout, this welcoming cottage offers plenty of space for families and groups of friends looking to soak up the magic of St Ives.

Set across four levels, the cottage combines traditional charm with modern comforts. Step inside to discover a cosy living room where wooden floors, comfortable seating and a crackling wood burner create the perfect place to unwind after a day by the sea. Whether you're curling up with a book on the window seat, watching a film on the Smart TV or gathering together for an evening chat, this is a wonderfully inviting space. Just above, the bright gallery-style dining area overlooks the kitchen below, creating a sociable setting for long breakfasts and relaxed evening meals.

Downstairs, the fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for preparing family feasts or simple suppers after a day exploring Cornwall. From here, steps lead up to a delightful courtyard garden where a bistro table and chairs provide a sunny spot for morning coffee, an alfresco lunch or an evening glass of wine before heading into town.

Sleeping up to six guests, Bluebell Cottage offers three comfortable bedrooms spread across the upper floors. On the first floor, one bedroom features a king size bed with a single bunk above, making it ideal for families travelling with children, while a second bedroom offers twin beds. The family bathroom on this floor includes a bath with a shower over, perfect for washing off sandy toes after a day at the beach. Occupying the entire top floor, the master bedroom feels wonderfully peaceful, with a king size bed, Smart TV and a cosy armchair tucked into the window alcove where you can sit with a morning coffee and watch the town come to life.

One of Bluebell Cottage's biggest draws is its exceptional location. Harbour Beach is only 400 metres away, while Porthmeor and Porthminster beaches can be reached in around ten minutes on foot. Wander through the town’s famous cobbled streets, browse independent boutiques and galleries, or enjoy fresh seafood in one of the many excellent restaurants and cafés. Art lovers can visit Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum, while walkers can follow the spectacular South West Coast Path towards Carbis Bay. Venture a little further afield and discover the vast sands of Hayle, the surf at Gwithian Beach or the many hidden coves that make this stretch of Cornwall so special.
