The detail

Blue Moon is situated in the old artist quarter of St Ives and makes a cool Cornish retreat for two, that is inspired by the colours of the beaches and sea, making use of blues and violets, both moody and uplifting. Utterly romantic with a stylish interior converted from a modest fisherman’s cottage, the home boasts all the luxury touches you would expect on holiday whilst also being just a few steps from the world famous Porthmeor beach.

Approached over a small footbridge Blue Moon oozes a chic bohemian style. Downstairs there is a spacious and comfortable deep seated sofa opposite a large smart TV. This space is open plan and features a pretty kitchen that is well equipped to cook a meal for two with a compact larder fridge, electric hob/oven and a Nespresso coffee machine. Meal prep is a breeze in this quaint kitchen, though we think you might be tempted to dine out as you enjoy the extensive choice of divine eateries in St Ives.

Opposite the bottom of the stairs sit the shower room and loo which has a heated towel rail. Head upstairs and you'll find the main bedroom, which has a comfy custom built super king bed, a built-in wardrobe and another smart TV meaning you can enjoy a movie night from the comfort of your own bed. The room is wonderfully atmospheric with its sea mural, sand and violet blue colours, mirrors and exposed rafter high ceiling. Next door is a dressing room which has a built-in desk/dressing table.

So many Instagram features for you to discover in this compact and simply gorgeous cottage. The perfect weekend bolthole for either a couple or a single traveller looking for somewhere more imaginative than the usual accommodation options in Cornwall.

There is also an on-site parking space for guests to use, though it does have a size restriction (width 1.9 metres x height 1.7 metres). Other parking options can be arranged upon making a reservation.

Blue Moon is moments away from Porthmeor Beach, in an area known for its thriving artist community. Porthmeor beach is renowned for its surfing, alfresco dining experiences and magnificent sunsets. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring in St Ives, a five minute stroll through the cobbled streets will bring you to Bamaluz, Porthgwidden and Harbour beach, along with dozens of high quality restaurants, art galleries and a plethora of boutique shops.
