Located in Lochaber, just 15 miles from Fort William, Bishop’s Bay is a beautifully appointed two-bedroom holiday home with some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery on its doorstep. Newly built, on two acres of private land, this well-equipped cottage looks out over woodland and the breathtaking Loch Leven.
Warmed by underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove, you can be assured Bishop’s Bay will be cosy whatever the time of year. The open-plan living space incorporates a dining area, office and children’s corner, as well as an attractive kitchen. This space is equipped with a microwave, hob and eye-level oven, as well as a Nespresso coffee machine, and is just a few steps away from the dining area with its glass-topped table and rattan chairs. A separate utility room is smarter than most, housing good-looking laundry facilities on the first floor.
The seating area centres on the log-burner and a 40” flatscreen Smart TV. Sliding doors take you out to the terrace where there is more space to relax or dine. The children’s area gives younger guests a place to hang out, with a 32” TV and DVD player, and board games to play.
A gorgeous en suite king room with a built-in wardrobe, dressing table and high-quality soft furnishings is complemented by a second, twin bedroom. The two single beds can be linked to form a super-king if needed. The en suite bathrooms of both bedrooms are equally elegant – the king room’s has a bath tub, and the twin’s has a shower, each with extra luxuries like a heated towel rail and magnifying mirror. Bath robes, slippers and hairdryers are also provided.
The location of Bishop’s Bay is pretty much unbeatable – the ultra-scenic landscapes will see you heading off early and staying out until late. Perfect for photographers and outdoor adventurers, you have Ben Nevis, Lochaber Geopark and numerous Munros nearby, plus opportunities for kayaking, sailing and wildlife cruises.
There are plenty of guided tours to show you the very best of the local area, either on land or from the water – Lochaber more than earns its title of the outdoor capital of the UK. With attractions like the Steall Waterfall and the iconic Jacobite steam train journey waiting for you, there will be no shortage of things to see, and remember.
