This marvellous, rustic holiday spot is perched on its very own island that sits inside a beautiful coral reef, which makes snorkelling trips a must! With the gorgeous, protected waters all around you, you'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to swimming, snorkelling, or just swinging in the hammock with a good book. Furthermore, this holiday property has been featured in endless newspapers, magazines and TV programmes throughout the world.
Located in the idyllic Caribbean nation of Belize, Bird Island offers you plenty of privacy as you're surrounded on all sides by water. With no neighbours or staff, you and your loved ones are left alone to enjoy a tropical break in style. Guests must stock up on food such as meats, vegetables, and drinks for their visit, a task which the owners at Bird Island are more than happy to help with. However, the island kitchen is well stocked with all other essentials for your stay. You will be transported to the island from Placencia, and trips both to and from the island are included. You also have a local phone and WiFi for use during your stay.
There are three separate buildings on the island for guests to stay in, and the island can sleep six people in total. This gives couples an added slice of privacy as you each have your own building. The main house has a master bedroom with a queen-size bed with all amenities. The second building has a new over-the-water, totally self-contained cabana, and also has a queen-sized bed and again comes with all the required amenities. And the third building is a small cabana with a double bed, and a desk, but has no bathroom.
The property also has a functional kitchen and a BBQ for some al fresco cooking, and there's also an enclosed swimming area with plenty of outdoor hangout space where you can lounge and soak up the sun. However, guests are encouraged to get out on the water. The island is surrounded by extremely shallow crystal-clear water, allowing you to snorkel, swim, wade or head out on kayaks (which are provided on the island) to explore the reef at whatever pace suits you.
