Set within the grounds of Belchamp Hall - home to a beautiful Queen Anne style country house - the Hayloft offers guests an unrivalled rural location in a property like no other. Once an old stable building, the cottage comprises the upper floor and boasts a striking timber framed vaulted ceiling, a huge master bedroom, and access to a romantic walled garden. You're even welcome to enjoy a spot of tennis. Sleeping a max of two guests, this countryside gem is the ideal spot for you and your loved one to lose yourselves in the peace and quiet of rural Suffolk.
Aptly named, the property was once a hayloft, occupying the upper floor of an old stable building. In recent years, it has been lovingly converted by the owners to reflect modern standards, while keeping one eye firmly on its rustic heritage. Guests will enter via the ground floor hall before proceeding upstairs to the Hayloft. A very spacious open planned living area greets you, with the vaulted oak framed ceiling being the most arresting feature of the property. The dining area has a wooden farmhouse table, and the kitchen comes fully equipped with all mod-cons (including a coffee machine). The lounge area has two comfy double sofas, a 42” Smart TV, and benefits from of the walled garden and surrounding undulating countryside. The huge master bedroom has a super-king size bed, sofa, 42" TV and adjoining en-suite containing its own bath. The garden contains outdoor seating and a free-to-use BBQ, while another door leads to the historic walled-garden, complete with its own tennis court.
There are various things to see and do in the region. For the nature lover, there are numerous walking trails and Dedham Vale - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - is just a short drive away. Suffolk is home to many picturesque towns and villages too, so you won't want for local pubs and restaurants to visit. If you are looking for a slice of urban life, the historic market town of Colchester is 30 mins away. A little further to the east is Ipswich, the county town of Sussex, known for its shopping, historic town square, and much-lauded marina.
