This former coach house is set on a 17th-century country house estate, just a short drive from the picturesque Dedham Vale.
Sitting on the grounds of Belchamp Hall estate is The Coach House. This aptly named two-story home away from home is a former coach house which has been lovingly refurbished to reflect a blend of modern and rustic sensibilities. Guests will have free reign to explore the gorgeous grounds of the estate, as well as having access to a unique walled garden and a shared tennis court. Its location means it also provides wonderful access to the beautiful Suffolk countryside and the Dedham Vale AONB. Sleeping four guests across two double bedrooms, this is the perfect property for a small family or a couple of couples.
The Coach House has been meticulously renovated by the owners, ensuring a rustic aesthetic which keeps one eye firmly on its own history. The most has been made of the south facing windows, with natural light bathing the house throughout the day. Notable features include oak beams, timber floors and furnishings, and vaulted ceilings. The ground floor is a large, airy, and open-planned space containing three sections: the kitchen, dining area, and sitting area. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all mod cons - including a coffee machine - while the dining area houses a large wooden table with room for six. The sitting area is incredibly spacious and has a large leather sofa and recliner, both facing a cosy log burner and 42" Smart TV. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and the bathroom. One bedroom houses a super king size bed and 32" TV, while the other has a comfy queen size. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, bath, lavatory, and his & hers sinks. Outside the house has a private fenced garden with lawn furniture, as well as the walled-garden and tennis court.
There is lots to see and do near The Coach House. Locally, there are numerous walking trails and Dedham Vale - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - is just a short drive away. Suffolk is home to many picturesque towns and villages too, meaning there are plenty of local pubs and restaurants to visit. If you are looking for a slice of urban life, the historic market town of Colchester is 30 minutes away. A little further to the east is Ipswich, the county town of Sussex, known for its shopping, historic town square, and much-lauded marina.
