Surrounded by thick lush foliage, this pretty cottage is a stylish, relaxing haven, ideally located for those looking to explore the fabulous Cumbrian and Northumbrian coast and countryside.
This former corn mill stands beside a babbling beck and is bursting with character from the exposed interior stone walls to the vaulted ceiling and white washed beams. This thoughtfully renovated property has been exquisitely styled so guests can enjoy the charm without compromising the luxury and conveniences required for a relaxing break.
Step into the pretty living space through the useful entrance way, which keeps out breezes and provides space to pull off hiking boots and hang summer hats. In the living room, sun streams through the roof light and windows and reflects off the white colour scheme which is livened-up with pops of colour from the yellow rug, bright framed prints on the walls and a fun lava lamp. Sink into the gorgeous tan leather sofa with a cup of tea while recuperating from the long journey, browse a book from the wooden shelves and plan the days ahead.
Head up a couple of steps to the lovely kitchen where more light streams through another ceiling light and illuminates this bright space. The kitchen is well-equipped and guests will find everything they need to make the most of the local produce and create delicious meals. A wooden dining table is ready to be covered in dishes, plates, bottles and glasses. So, light the candles, and settle in for the evening, relaxing over a long dinner and enjoying the tranquility of this delightful cottage.
There is a stunning bedroom with white washed walls and a vaulted ceiling. Colourful rugs cover the soft cream carpet and a pretty floral-print papered feature wall enhances the character of this charming room. A large sofa sits underneath the window and is a lovely spot for relaxing with a morning coffee, basking in the sunlight, while enjoying the view. A good sized shower room has stylish black and white tiles, a large shower and fluffy white towels. Just the place for freshening up before heading out to explore the area.
Bed at the Beck is wonderfully situated for visiting Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District and Solway Coast. Whether a hiker, biker, wild swimmer or sight-seer, the scenery and history of the area offers something for everyone. The nearest town is lovely Brampton, just two miles away, where visitors can stock up on picnic goodies and enjoy good food. Try the Duke of Cumberland which has a good pub menu and a nice beer garden, or head for afternoon tea at Bite Cafe and Tearoom.
