The detail

Beck View is a spacious family home, filled with character and designed with entertaining in mind. It is also a secluded, peaceful haven surrounded by woodland and boasting stunning, expansive gardens. The combination of privacy and sociability makes this the perfect destination for larger groups to gather together for a special occasion or a relaxing getaway.

Through the spacious hallway, you will find the snug, a light and tranquil yet cosy space, where windows frame views out over the woodland garden to Lake Windermere. The comfy corner sofa and huge cinema TV lend themselves to lounging with a film or playing your favourite board games with the whole family. Opposite the snug lies the dining room, elegantly decorated and comfortable, it’s the perfect room to relax, entertain and dine with family and friends.

Continue through into the sunny living room, where a wall of bi-folding doors opens out onto the terrace and provides stunning lake views. In the summer months, why not throw open the doors and enjoy your dining alfresco, watching the setting sun with a glass of wine in hand? Or perhaps snuggle up on the sofa in front of the log-burning stove and enjoy an evening watching your favourite films on Netflix.

The warm ambience carries through to the well-equipped kitchen, where a cheerful Aga radiates comfort and is a constant source of heat. The island unit creates a natural hub where you can chat with a drink as dinner is being prepared. Make your morning coffee here on the coffee machine and pause in the windows to soak in the views of the stunning wild garden outside.

Upstairs, you will find five spacious and elegantly furnished bedrooms, comfortably accessorised with cushions and throws, two of which benefit from modern ensuite bathrooms and the master suite offering stunning views over Lake Windermere. Wake up to glorious sunrises over the lake and enjoy your tea with a stunning view. There is a further family bathroom and a fun room at the end of the corridor with a cabin bed, TV and xBox – the perfect play den for children.

Outside you will find a beautiful woodland garden of hidden delights, with weaving footpaths and bridges which cross over the stream, waterfalls and ponds, a treasure trove of hidden pockets, rare plants, secret sheds and wildlife. There are dining and seating areas where you can entertain and socialise together while enjoying the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

Beck View is a short 20-minute stroll from Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere where there is a multitude of activities whatever your interests. Explore the pretty villages of Ambleside and Grasmere nearby, try your hand at some water-based hobbies or take advantage of the many scenic walking and cycling routes in the Lake District National Park.
