Battel Hall is a 700-year-old medieval hall house that has been expertly restored and tastefully modernised. Blending its mysterious past with contemporary luxuries, it is both lavish and extravagant yet cosy and modest. Imagine sumptuous leather sofas next to rustic roaring fires and gnarled wooden timbers above hand-painted designs. Arrow-slit windows tell of its hard-fought battles, while elegant antiques reflect its lordly standing.
Pass through the galleried hallway, with its grandiose medieval laver, to find a plethora of decorative living rooms that each have a vintage, period glamour. Breakfast in the morning room or sit out on the garden terrace, reading a book in the illustrious drawing room or dining at the banqueting table.
Rich reds and noble blues are softened by dainty pastel hues and are dressed with plush velvets, bold prints and decadent hints of gold. Interesting portrait paintings add a distinguished air and look over classic books with a creative flair.
