Set in a private 8acre valley, overlooking Cornwall’s beguiling Whitesands Bay, Basking Shark is a romantic retreat where you can escape from the everyday. Wonder at the disappearing cliffs and the shimmering sea waters, exploring sublime sandy beaches and secret, lover’s hideouts. Venture inland to uncover enchanting, ancient woodlands, wandering across desolate open moors and through rugged, grassy farmland.
The Basking Shark in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nestled on the edge of the idyllic Vellandreath Valley just 150metres from Sennen Beach. Reached via a peaceful, sandy footpath and with no passing road, it is a calming retreat where you can relax and unwind.
Behind its charming stable door lies a chic, seaside haven, complete with a contemporary, country kitchen and sea-view seating area. An ornate dressing screen hides the serene double bedroom with its plush bed and fluffy, designer bedding. Crisp whites and ocean blues create a clean, sophisticated style, and are complimented by simple, natural textures for a timeless design. Look out for the vintage lamp and the exposed granite walls, next to the salvaged barrel and slate-style floors.
Rustle up a sumptuous dinner for two and dine alfresco on the terrace, waiting for the breath-taking sunset and silvery, moonlit vistas. On cooler nights you can curl up indoors, turning up the underfloor heating and gazing out to the secluded shores.
