Welcome to Baixa House, a group of apartments located at the heart of an historical district in downtown Lisbon.
Following a thorough refurbishment, this 18th century building, built after Lisbon’s 1755 devastating earthquake, opens its doors to travellers from all over the world.
The 12 apartments vary in size and can sleep one to six people. Each is decorated differently and named after a Lisbon garden which inspires its design. At each apartment you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere and a delicately styled interior that includes many Portuguese handicrafts. High ceilings, whitewashed walls and bare floors are matched with bright furniture and patterned rugs.
Baixa House provides serviced apartments that include daily cleaning, breakfast and on-hand advice for all your travel needs. The apartments can be rent per day, since they are cleaned on a daily basis, and fresh products for breakfast are also replaced every day. During long stays bed linen and bath towels are replaced once a week.
The breakfast includes fresh juice, bread, yoghurt, fruit, cheeses and meats. In the afternoon a home-made cake awaits your return from a busy day of sightseeing. Plenty of provisions are also provided, and, should you need to add to your stores, there are many delicatessens and shops nearby stocking cheeses, ham, olives, port, wine and more. Or, if you're eating out, you can't go wrong at A Cevicheria, in Principe Real, for a great meal.
Other facilities in the building include an elevator, Wi-Fi, laundry and safety lock doors. There are also cots if you need one and TVs ready to install in the apartments at your request, without extra charge.
The Baixa House is a perfect base for exploring Lisbon. 'Baixa' means downtown and there are plenty of lively restaurants, bars and boutiques to explore from your doorstep. Walk just five minutes and you’ll reach either the Praça do Comercio, one of the biggest squares in Europe, the Figueira Square or Rossio Square. Walk 10 minutes and you’ll reach the trendy Chiado and Bairro Alto districts. Getting about the city is easy with electric trams running to most destinations and the Number 28 stopping right outside your door.
