This original fisherman’s cottage has been lovingly converted into a charming and pretty holiday home, perfect for small families or couples. Artisan Cottage is quaint and homely, with big comfy sofas, rustic beamed ceilings and lovely cosy bedrooms. After your morning coffee in the Cornish sunshine, take a stroll down the winding cobbled streets and you’ll end up by St Ives harbour, with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby as well as some brilliant local pubs and, of course, the Tate Gallery.
Walk up the ancient granite steps and pass through the stable doors and you’re presented with the cosy and well furnished living area, with its big sofas, carpeted floors and lovely rustic furniture, the perfect place to chill with a bottle of wine in front of the TV. The cute kitchen has everything you’d need to cook up a lovely feast of freshly caught local fish, and has a nice little dining table big enough to seat four. The kitchen is packed with character, and is as pretty as a picture with pristine white walls and lots of wood on display. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, both of which are extremely comfortable, allowing you the perfect night’s sleep. There’s also the family bathroom on the upper floor with a shower over the bathtub.
Artisan Cottage is in a splendid location and with the popular town of St Ives right on its doorstep, you’re spoilt for beaches. On the north coast of St Ives is the dramatic popular surf beach of Porthmeor, where you can hire a board and hit the waves. On the west coast you have other lovely sandy sheltered beaches including Porthminster, Porthgwidden, Harbour and Bamaluz, all of which are great for a family day playing in the sun, sea and sand.
As well as stunning beaches, St Ives also has a number of art galleries from the internationally renowned Tate to the smaller, private galleries that are tucked away in little nooks and crannies. Hours can be wound away exploring the pretty streets of St Ives, where you can stop off for a coffee in a local cafe, or dine in some truly spectacular restaurants. With all of the character of an authentic St Ives cottage, and direct access to Cornwall’s most wonderful town, Artisan Cottage is a fantastic home for small families or couples looking for a holiday.
