Hidden away in some woodland in the South Downs National Park, these two beautiful cabins have been designed by an award-winning architect. Their cedar exteriors complement the natural surroundings and you’ll find a whole host of modern comforts inside. Spend your days exploring the South Downs National Park or perhaps enjoy a trip to the beach, before heading back to your cosy cabin for a dip in the hot tub and an evening in front of the woodburner.
There are two cabins to choose from, Foxes Hollow and Badgers Rest. Both can sleep up to four making them perfect for family trips or couples' escapes. The cabins feel spacious inside, thanks to the open-plan design and the double height ceiling over the kitchen area. There are also big windows on both levels, letting in plenty of natural light.
Downstairs you’ll find a well-equipped kitchenette with all the essentials, including an induction hob. Next to this, there’s a dining table, positioned in front of some of the floor-to-ceiling windows so you can enjoy the view while you tuck into breakfast. The living area is located under the mezzanine level, giving it a cosy feel. Sit back in front of the woodburner on the big comfy sofa and see if you can spot any of the local wildlife in the surrounding trees.
Head up the ladder to the mezzanine and you’ll find a luxurious bedroom with a double bed and views of the treetops through big windows at either end of the cabin. The space has a light and airy feel with sloping ceilings and glass railings helping you make the most of the view through windows beyond, without getting out of bed. The sofa downstairs converts into another double bed if required. There’s also a shower room downstairs with fluffy towels waiting for you on a heated rail.
Outside, you’ll find a picnic table and fire pits if you fancy cooking outdoors. You’ll also have access to a wood fired hot tub, the perfect way to relax after a long walk in the South Downs.
The cabins are located in private woodland on the outskirts of the pretty village of Alfriston on the South Downs Way. The South Downs National Park is a great place for those who want to reconnect with the outdoors. There are endless walking opportunities and some great cycling routes for both mountain bikers and road cyclists. Alfriston is also located near the coast and there are beaches to visit, watersports to try and clifftop walks offering spectacular views. If you fancy a change of scene, the vibrant city of Brighton is also close by.
