Escape to the Italian countryside at this Puglian retreat with swimming pool, spa and seductive surroundings... Ocean views included
Masseria Moroseta is owned and managed by Carlo.
A newly built white stone farmhouse near the Puglian town of Ostuni, the tranquil location of Masseria Moroseta makes it the perfect Italian retreat. With a spa, sauna and both indoor and outdoor pools, this masseria also offers six beautiful rooms. Add in some stunning views of the Adriatic just a couple of miles away, and you get a sense of the serenity you can enjoy.
Surrounded by olive trees, Masseria Moroseta has its own farm producing olive oil, fruit and vegetables. There are some breathtaking countryside walks around the area, and several secluded beaches line the nearby coast. While it is a new building, the architecture of Masseria Moroseta is inspired by traditional Puglian estates, ensuring it is perfectly in keeping with local tastes.
The air-conditioned rooms and suites all have their own private outdoor space with views of the olive grove. For added interest, the house has been furnished with second-hand pieces found at local markets and antique fairs. If you see something you like, you may even be able to buy it.
Masseria Moroseta has become a popular yoga retreat, and you can relax with a massage or steam bath in the spa. At 18 x 6m, the outdoor swimming pool is a big attraction… maybe take a dip after an organic breakfast, served each morning, and featuring eggs straight from the farm.
Nearby Ostuni is one of the most beautiful towns of Puglia, and a convenient place to dine out. Your hosts can recommend many fine restaurants in the area. It will soon become clear why it is known as ‘The White City’, and the historic centre is well worth a visit, with sights such as the Cathedral and the Column of Sant’Oronzo waiting to be seen and photographed.
The atmospheric Cisternino and coastal Polignano a Mare are among other towns in the region you may wish to visit, along with the architecturally rich Alberobello and Martina Franca. With most accessible in around 30-40 minutes, there is a lot to see and experience. The larger city of Lecce is a little further, but well worth the trip and its Baroque beauty continues to draw visitors in numbers.
To see Puglia at its best, and take a little time out for yourself, Masseria Moroseta is the place to be.
