The detail

Gaze over enchanted valleys and sparkling river beds from this stunning Lake District hotel in the beautiful Langdale Estate. Enveloped within 35 acres of private woodland expanses, it has a majestic spot in the phenomenal Langdale Valley. Ancient trees and babbling brooks roll on for as far as the eye can see, while the sounds of Mother Nature are clear for all to hear. Stroll through the magical coppiced pathways or up one of the gentle rolling hills and you’ll fall in love with the untouched, natural views.

The Langdale Hotel is part of this sprawling estate and enjoys access to an indulgent range of on-site spa and dining facilities. There are a variety of equally magnificent rooms on offer that provide a calm and tranquil atmosphere inspired by the idyllic surroundings. Large deluxe beds are joined by sleek en-suite bathrooms, while a sophisticated décor is joined by sumptuous furnishings. Some rooms also have their own free standing luxury bath tubs, meaning you can relax and unwind in style after a day out exploring the Lakes.

When it comes to choosing a room, the Feature Rooms offer a variety of little treats and are plush, cosy retreats amongst the flourishing, wild landscape. The Waterside Feature rooms overlook the gushing Langdale Beck and have peaceful, private balconies amongst breath-taking river scenes. The Attic Feature room also offers exquisite hotel comforts and has a copper roll top bath and a subtle colour palette.

The Ultimate Rooms are a real designer haven and have a unique style with a chic, boutique-finish. Sensual colours and leather headboards are joined by intimate in-room baths, while super-soft bedding can help you to drift-off.

For that little bit of added indulgence the spa and leisure facilities await and include an indoor swimming pool, hot-tub, sauna and a well-equipped gym. Enjoy relaxing Anne Semonin treatments or an Elemis body wrap, before heading out to uncover the never-ending myriad of woodland paths.

If you’re looking for adventure then there is ample opportunity with dramatic mountain walks and nature trails to be found in the valley. Climbing, canoeing, off-roading and gliding can also be enjoyed, along with all sorts of remote landscapes and charming manor gardens.
