The Gables is elegant, very large and stylishly decorated in a simple Scandinavian style with pale soothing tones, clean lines and reminders of the nearby beach in the stunning art. This newly renovated and utterly charming house would be perfect for a large family get together or two families with children.
It is the sheer volume of open shared space that will strike you first. The ground floor features Crittal doors and large windows providing idyllic views of the surrounding fields where you'll see horses grazing and some mature trees. Cream walls and pale wooden flooring highlight the huge living space beautifully separated into dining, kitchen and sitting area.
The very well equipped kitchen has a ceiling window flooding light onto the striking black cabinets and freestanding breakfast bar where you can gather with a glass of wine and watch the chef. There's a picture window with a bench draped in faux fur perfect for perching with a cup of tea to admire the view. The dining table is long and central and overlooks the garden. It's perfect for celebratory meals, lazy suppers and bustling breakfasts. The first of the lounge areas is nestled in one corner and has a large L-shaped sofa. It's a good spot to enjoy a pre-dinner drink.
A further two generously-sized living rooms provide plenty of cosy, plush seating where you can snuggle up for a movie night or simply curl up with a good book. There's a games room for the kids (adults are allowed) where you'll find table tennis and plenty of board games to keep you entertained. The ground floor also has a generous utility room with its own entrance and a wet room where you can dispense with coats, wetsuits and boots.
Upstairs you'll find four bedrooms, all decorated with the same simple elegance. There's two bedrooms with ensuites, one a super-king and one a king, both stylishly tiled with walk in rainfall showers and complimentary toiletries. The third bedroom has a king size bed and plenty of storage, and the fourth is ideal for kids with a bunk bed and a trundle if required. There are two additional bathrooms, one with a bathtub and shower overhead, the other with a shower meaning no one need queue in the mornings!
On summer days you might like to enjoy breakfast in the large, enclosed private garden with its lovely views of the countryside. There's a dining table and a gas BBQ for post beach burgers and an enclosed trampoline, rope swing and football goal to keep the kids entertained.
The award-winning West Wittering beach is only a 15-minute walk away and it's a wonderful way to while away a long summer day, and you'll be a one-minute stroll from the local shops if you need to grab ice creams or wine.
West Wittering has some lovely local pubs and there's lots of choices when it comes to eating out. Whether you choose to go casual with a burger at Billy's on the Beach, enjoy a cocktail and supper at The Wittering, or simply fancy a pint at The Crown and Anchor, there's something for everyone. And if there's a special occasion to be celebrated you can book a table at The Ivy in nearby Chichester for a truly memorable night out.
