Enjoy a marvellous break in the Yorkshire countryside in this gorgeous Victorian farmhouse that comfortably sleeps up to 18 guests. Ideal as a setting for your next family gathering, or big special occasion, Olliver House has everything you need for an enjoyable stay.

Dating back to the mid-19th century, Olliver House was once the family home of the Earl and Countess of Ronaldshay. Sitting on the outskirts of the historic market town of Richmond, the house has the grandeur of a Victorian mansion, with the rural charm of an old farmhouse.

There's plenty of space for you to spread out and socialise in style. Gather in the living room on the giant comfy sofas and enjoy a glass of wine in front of the roaring fireplace with your loved ones. You can also sit with a book in the conservatory that offers a bright and comfy spot to relax in the sunshine. Leave the doors wide open in summer to let the fresh air in, or cosy up in winter as the rain hammers on the glass ceiling.

The house also has a big, grand dining hall which is ideal for big dinners with all the family. There's a large extendable dining table that can easily seat your entire party, whilst the flagstone flooring and wood burner lend a classic feel and plenty of warmth. You can also eat in the kitchen on the farmhouse dining table. The kitchen itself is nice and big and has all you need to cater for your group. In addition to the AGA, you’ll also have a Smeg cooker with ceramic hob, a huge American-style fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a microwave. Downstairs there is also a boot room where you can dry off those muddy walking boots after a day’s hiking, a utility room, and two handy cloakrooms.

You may also wish to catch some peace and quiet in the drawing room, whilst kids will love the games room that has a TV and large L-shaped sofa. The TV has access to Sky, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, and this room also offers a number of board games and cards for some traditional off-line fun. WiFi is also available and a Sonos sound system provides the background music throughout the ground floor.

The nine luxurious bedrooms are super-comfy and elegantly designed. The wonderful master suite has a spacious bedroom, a super king-size bed, and a nice window seat that offers amazing views across the gardens and beyond. This room also has access to a generous bathroom with freestanding bath and separate shower. There are also two other superking bedrooms - one of which can be configured as a twin, four twin rooms, a double, and a single with an additional pull-out trundle bed. These rooms share an assortment of bathrooms with giant freestanding bath tubs in some, and more traditional baths or showers in others.

When it comes to outdoor space, the house sits on a beautifully maintained walled garden, meaning you can spread out in the sunshine and get some fresh air. You may even wish to hire a hot tub in summer, which can be arranged prior to your visit. Please ask before booking as availability is limited during summer season.

Thanks to its fab location, guests are encouraged to take a relaxing walk before heading to the local village pub for dinner. There are a variety of great walking opportunities on offer so be sure to pack your hiking boots. Richmond Castle is also a short drive away, and has some independent shops and cafes that are well worth a visit.

Avid foodies will be pleased to know that there are some amazing restaurants nearby. Yorkshire’s Michelin Star Restaurant, The Raby Hunt is just 12 miles from your door, and the Gastro Pub, The White Swan is also a short drive. There is also the fabulous Middleton Lodge Spa Hotel a few miles away with two fantastic restaurants.
