Built in 1901, Glebe Cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard with luxurious extras like underfloor heating, but it also retains much of its original charm thanks to the stone work and wooden floorboards throughout. The cottage would be ideal for a family holiday or a group of friends looking to explore the stunning North coast and all it has to offer.
The heart of this gorgeous, and very spacious, cottage is the open plan living, kitchen and dining room where everyone can come together for a welcome drink and raise a toast to the joy of a holiday in beautiful Cornwall.
Decorated in warm muted colours with comfy blue chairs, plenty of wood and that lovely original stone work, the living area is cosy with a hint of seaside in the décor. There's underfloor heating throughout and a log burner to make everything extra inviting on chilly evenings. The 4K smart TV makes it a great place to have a movie night and with Bluetooth throughout you can play some music and mix some drinks whilst the designated chef enjoys the fully equipped kitchen.
The farmhouse dining table comfortably seats eight for dinner on cooler nights, and is also a great spot to enjoy some board games. Double French doors lead out into the gardens and the ground floor also houses a cloakroom.
The first floor is home to the main bedroom which has a super-king size bed, a lovely warm décor and an ensuite with a stunning tiled floor, a free standing tub and a walk-in shower. Opposite you'll find another bedroom with two singles, equally pretty in its décor, and an ensuite with another walk-in shower.
Up the stairs on the second floor are the remaining bedrooms, a lovely king size with an ensuite shower and another room with two singles and the fourth ensuite, meaning there will be no queuing for the bathroom! This floor also has a beautiful viewing landing area with a striking vaulted window and Juliet balcony where you can enjoy the wonderful Cornish sunsets.
The hosts have also provided a great utility room with washing machine, dryer, sink and secure storage for surf boards and other equipment.
After a peaceful night's sleep and a refreshing shower (or soak), you can make your way downstairs and take advantage of the DeLonghi coffee machine. Throw open the French doors and head out to the large south facing garden with its private patio where you can take a seat, soak up the sun and make your plans for the day. The garden has plenty of seating, a dining table for alfresco suppers cooked on the BBQ, a fire pit and sun loungers where you can relax with a good book or have a snooze.
Cornwall has so much to offer. You can keep it relaxed and pack a picnic before heading to one of the many famous beaches. The hosts recommend; Trevone, Harlyn, Treyarnon - or hop over the Camel on the short ferry ride to Rock and Daymer Bay. For foodies you can't do better than the Camel Estuary where you'll find Rick Stein's, Paul Ainsworth at No. 6, The Old Mill House and Treviskers Kitchen amongst others.
You'll find seven bays in this area with historic harbours and Padstow has some great artisan shops and old inns for pints at your leisure. Play golf, cycle, walk or surf – there's something for everyone. And at the end of the day you can head back to your home from home, light up the fire pit, grab some marshmallows and stargaze to your heart's content.
