Standing proudly on the colourful promenade of Llanfairfechan, Claremont is a beautiful Victorian house, recently refurbished to create stylish holiday accommodation. The house is perfectly located to enjoy the stunning views out to Anglesey, Puffin Island and the Great Orme, not to mention the sunsets over the water. The building itself is packed with charm and character, from its pink exterior to the quirky interior design. The thoughtful renovation combines the old and the new, keeping the building’s original features while adding an eclectic mix of contemporary furnishings. The result is a luxurious and relaxing hideaway, the perfect base for exploring North Wales or just chilling by the seaside.
Head along the promenade and you’ll be greeted by a colourful row of houses looking out to sea. In the middle of the row, nestled between the green and blue houses, you can’t miss the pink of Claremont. The house has belonged to the same family for the last 80 years and they still enjoy their own holidays here in the popular seaside village. The interior has therefore been furnished with that extra bit of care and has the feel of a real home from the moment you step into the original Victorian hallway.
Just off the hall, you’ll find the brand-new kitchen/diner which is a fantastic space for entertaining. The open-plan design of this space creates a social atmosphere while dinner is being prepared and extra kitchen helpers can perch at the bar and lend a hand to the cook. The dining space faces the sea and you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning sunsets while tucking into dinner. You’ll also find a double bedroom with a luxurious king-size bed and a shower room on the ground floor.
Head upstairs and there are two more bedrooms, the luxurious main bedroom with another king size bed and a room with a triple bunk which will be popular with the kids. There’s also a living room which has been beautifully furnished with a mix of contemporary and vintage pieces, sumptuous velvet sofas and striking feature wallpaper. The views out to sea are even more spectacular from this level.
Another double room with a king size bed is at the top of another flight of stairs. There’s also a recently fitted bathroom on this floor with a shower and a luxurious roll-top bath, perfect for relaxing after a long walk along the coast.
It’s a short stroll from the house down to Llanfairfechan beach where you’ll discover big stretches of sand when the tide is out. If you fancy exploring a little further, head inland and you’ll soon find yourself deep in the Snowdonia National Park. The spectacular Aber Falls are just over five kilometres away from the house and can be reached via some beautiful walking trails in the park. Head across the water to Anglesey and visit Beaumaris Castle, the unfinished masterpiece of 13th-century architecture. Or, take a trip up the coast from the house to the Great Orme Country Park and wander along the clifftop trails and soak up the views of Anglesey and out to sea.
