Zinc has been designed with sustainability in mind and sits within nine acres of beautiful grounds that you and your four-legged friends will just love exploring.
This charming space allows you and your family to reconnect and features awe-inspiring and intriguing rustic-industrial elements that are sure to wow.
The large, open plan living area has super high ceilings that add to the spacious feel. The lounge has a pair of beautiful leather Chesterfield sofas that sit around the wood burning stove. This is the ideal spot to sit with a good book or watch a movie on the smart TV, which comes with Netflix. Off the lounge is the dining area, which has a lovely, rustic dining table that seats six. Zinc’s kitchen is supremely stylish, with blue units, white worktops and a brick feature wall. It is also nicely equipped with modern appliances to make meal preparation a breeze.
When bedtime beckons, Zinc has three bedrooms, with two on the ground floor. The first bedroom has a king size bed, an ensuite shower room and French doors that open up onto the patio outside. The second bedroom on the ground floor features two twin beds and a work desk. Upstairs, the third bedroom has zip link large single beds, which can be combined to create a super-king size bed. This room also has an ensuite. There’s a further family bathroom upstairs with a beautiful bath and a spacious shower.
Guests staying at Zinc will want to explore the marvellous grounds that surround them. Nearly every tree, hedge and flower has been planted by the owners, creating a peaceful haven to reconnect with nature. Wander through the wood alongside the stream, play together in the fields, relax beside the large pond or picnic on one of the picnic tables that are dotted throughout the grounds.
If you wish to venture further afield, you can explore the marvellous attractions of Pembrokeshire. You’re on the outskirts of Haverfordwest, so you’re only a few minutes’ drive from supermarkets and shops for essentials. The two mile stretch of golden sands of Newgale is only eight miles away and is perfect for a walk with your dog or for water sports. Other highly recommended Pembrokeshire treasures include St. Davids, Solva, Barafundle Bay, National Trust’s Stackpole and the Pembrokeshire coast path.

Leave a reviewWe have been to Carmarthen before, and we wanted to visit again, but somewhere that had electric car facilities. It seemed that the Long Barn was perfect, and so it was. Everything, just everything, was as we had hoped. The Cottage was new, modern and well-designed. Judy in fact started planning on how to move in! We found awaiting us homemade chocolate, cookies and freshly laid eggs. We have a dog, smallish and well-behaved. The backyard was secure and perfect for that last night visit. Just 50 paces away was the entrance to another secure area, pond, walks and lovely natural surroundings. Loads of benches and a picnic table. Properly secluded, natural and just postcard perfect. I'm a naturalist and gardener, this has been done with knowledge and care. The Kites were a bonus. The user guide for the cottage is excellent, full of every detail, about the cottage and the local area. In the guide, there is a link to ZapMap for electric cost guidance. However, when I came to pay, the actual cost was just the basic electricity charge plus a small surcharge; I was so pleasantly surprised when the very reasonable cost was presented. The charger is a standard 7KW unit untethered. Rob came over to greet us and was just lovely and helpful in every way. I had had a medical issue and with his help we were able to manage the booking and our time there. In the kitchen there is a modern induction hob and all the tools and pans needed. There is a proper steaming and hissin Espresso machine with coffee provided. The two bedrooms are lovely, both with ensuite facilities, one had a bath with legs, quite the thing. With my medical problem the huge bed was a blessing. We loved it, and will return.

We stayed at Cedar at the long barn and can’t thank Karen and Rob enough for a beautiful stay. Communication was great and really easy. The attention to detail and thought that’s gone in to every item at the barn is exceptional. It had everything we could possibly need and more! There was a delicious welcome selection of handmade treats which were divine, including handmade dog biscuits. We’ve never stayed anywhere so well catered for dogs. The owner’s have gone above and beyond, all three of us were spoilt. The accommodation is warm, relaxing, and super comfy. The highlight by far was the stunning and tranquil 10 acre grounds that the owner’s so kindly share with guests, with a gorgeous pond to walk around and a river running the length of the grounds. You can tell how much thought has gone in to every detail of this property. We will be recommending and hope to return in the future, and we never go to the same place twice! Thank you so much Karen and Rob.

Well let's start with the negatives. 1. Didn't want to leave. 2. A lovely location. 3. Quality furnishings. 4. Very dog friendly. What great accommodation. A fantastic welcome pack including home cooked cake, chocolate, wine, dog treats etc. The property has a car charger for the with an electric vehicle and the owner only charges the cost value. Not like other owners. It has an outside dog wash with hot and cold water, really good for us dog owners. Spare lead, dog bowls, towels, poo bags and doggie toys if you have forgotten them. The baths are huge and just like being in a swimming pool, I didn't want to get out. All the floors are hard, so no carpet to worry about and easy to keep clean. Really comfortable and the grounds are beautiful and great for the dogs but watch out for the sheep. Karen and Rob are very friendly and don't bother you unless you require something. I thoroughly recommend this property and will be returning.

We felt very well the two weeks, we stayed at Zinc/ Long Barn in Haverfordwest. It is situated perfect to explore Pembrokeshire and the amazing coast path. The days with with bad weather were no problem, because the barn is comfortable and have enough space. The kitchen is well equipped. Robert and Karen are wonderfull, uncomplicated and helpfull. It is a long way from germany to spent holidays in Wales (we drive by car!), but it was very worth it. We can highly recommend the accomodation! Marcus ans Elke

Perfect base for our family break to Pembrokeshire. Zinc was amazing, so cleverly designed and furnished with an abundance of additional compliments. We loved every element of our stay and hope to visit again next year!

This barn, it perfect for a holiday in Pembrokeshire, central to some beautiful coastline and beaches. The luxurious finish to the barn, gives it the feel of a five star hotel. The decor is individual and every day i felt i discovered and saw something different. The owners made us feel welcome with delicious treats and the exceptionally well equipped barn was well thought out. We go away 5-6 times a year and something is always missing in self catering, not here, everything was catered for, including our dogs. Dog toys, treats, bowls and a spare lead. The grounds are a dog walking treat, with lovely places to just sit and take in the gorgeous surroundings or picnic benches, next to the stream. The pictures do not do it justice and i would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a luxurious stay, in a peacful relaxing setting. We cannot wait to book a return.

We have just had a wonderful week at Zinc. The accommodation is to a very high standard and wants for nothing. The surrounding lake and fields which are part of the grounds are so beautiful and provide an amazing variety of bird life to watch and listen to. In the evening at dusk we were able to sit by the lake and use the bat detector that Karen and Rob lent us to identify different bats catching insects over the lake. Karen and Robs hospitality was amazing and included home made cakes and biscuit, fresh eggs from their rescued hens, Prosecco, milk and home made chilli jam. When the rotary clothes line broke and we told them it was replaced within the same day. I can throughly recommend a stay at Zinc and hope to return next year. Thank you Karen and Rob for making us so welcome. Ann

We loved our stay at the smaller Cedar property. The property is modern, excellently furnished (bordering on the luxurious), incredibly comfortable and we wanted for absolutely nothing. The farm holding upon which it is based is both beautiful and wonderfully relaxing. Rob and Karen are excellent hosts, attentive to your needs but mindful to leave you to your holiday otherwise. Would highly recommend a stay and we would love to come back if we visit this beautiful region again. Many thanks

We had an absolutely wonderful Easter stay at Zinc with our two young boys. The barn itself is enough, it is gorgeous and has everything and more you could want. The hosts were amazing leaving us delicious home made cakes, biscuits as well as home made bath ‘bombs’ to soak in either of the two luxurious baths. Our kids were right at home here and really enjoyed the walk around the dam (where the Easter bunny had been). Fishguard is a great short trip away with a lovely walk around the bay and a fort with stunning views. Over all I couldn’t recommend this place more!

A wonderfully relaxing stay at Zinc. The barn has everything you could possibly want in a holiday let and very much more. Chocolate cake, Welsh cakes, a bottle of Fizz, ground coffee and biscuits for the dogs (and a bar of local Chocolate and jar of home made jam) were heaven and most unexpected. The property is centrally located for access to all the county whether you want to go to the hills, beaches, historic sites or the many other attractions. (We visited Cardigan, St David's, Tenby and many other areas around the county) The walk around the grounds were excellent for an early morning walk with our two Collies (Charlie and Bryn). The garden with its covered seating area allowed us and the two Collies to sit out in the February weather and will provide good shade in the summer. Inside (unlike other properties we have stayed at) the kitchen has loads of storage space for the food shopping and a large fridge easily accommodated our needs and there were plenty of utensils, crockery, cutlery and cooking pans etc...(even the dogs are provided with bowls, towels and mats). The bedrooms have plenty of hanging space (along with hangers) and drawers for a weeks stay and more. Little touches and attention to detail are very obvious that Rob and Karen take pride in the presentation and decoration of the barn with some quirky use of non standard items. The external hose was used a few times after muddy walks and with the option of warm water were far more pleasant for Charlie and Bryn rather than just cold water. Thank you very much Rob and Karen. We are returning in June and are very much looking forward to the visit (whatever the weather !!), best wishes Tony, Karen, Emma, Charlie and Bryn

Without a doubt the BEST staycation we have ever had. From the moment we booked (Zinc) right through to check out, the stay was simply perfect. Rob & Karen are incredible hosts, with brilliant communication throughout, even leaving beautiful homemade details for when we checked in. This booking was a surprise for my sisters 30th birthday. When we arrived there was a homemade cake with a personalised topper and card waiting for her alongside lots of other treats. To say the space is stunning would be an understatement. They have thought of literally everything. The design is impeccable. Of course it was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable aswell. Also, I must make a special mention of the showers. Hands down the besttttt showers all of us have ever had. We were so sad to leave. I cannot recommend this place enough.

My labradors and I absolutely loved Zinc. The decor was wonderfully quirky and luxurious. Rob and Karen have gone to enormous lengths to ensure their guests have a relaxing and comfortable stay - and I particularly liked all the homemade goodies (even for the dogs!) The outside area was lovely too - both the courtyard attached to the barn and around the lake - although the October weather was not conducive to sitting outside! The barn was in easy reach of the coast and the stunning beaches/coastal path. My only very very slight disappointment was the immediate area of Haverfordwest. Finding anywhere decent to eat was a drive away but the barn was so lovely - with a fabulous kitchen - that eating in was not a problem at all. I'd definitely recommend a stay at Zinc - and have already forwarded details to friends who are thinking of heading to stunning Pembrokeshire.

We have just spent a week in Zinc with our dog. It is a fabulous and attractive Barn with lots of character and facilities. From the roaring log fire to the big leather sofas it is a place you can snuggle down in if you wish. It also has a brilliant sociable outdoor space, that is secure for dogs etc. there are lovely walks nearby but the beaches in Pembrokeshire are beautiful and many are only a short drive. The Barn is also set up nicely for dog owners with doggie shower, doggie treats etc. we will definitely be back to this luxurious place and beautiful environment.

We have just had a brilliant week's stay in Zinc with our 3 dogs. What an amazing property created by Rob & Karen (our lovely hosts). The barn is warm and inviting with a luxurious feel. The decor is beautiful and feels very homely with everything you need. The rooms are all great sizes, with plenty of bathrooms and instant hot water. Rob & Karen made us feel so welcome. They made our anniversary/birthday trip so special with a welcome pack like non other we've ever had and also an afternoon tea, it was such an unexpected surprise. The dogs were also well catered for, the grounds are great for an early dog walk, the homemade treats went down very well and the outside shower is fantastic, we want one at home! The property is in a great location to explore the stunning Pembrokeshire coast along with countryside walks. This was all made easier with the detailed welcome guide, maps and books in the property helping us to decide our plan for each day. There are supermarkets very close by and the Chinese takeaway was also very good! We really felt totally rested after our stay, thank you so much.

What a fabulous place this was to stay. The house was beautiful, a real home away from home. I can't think of one thing the house didn't have. Great hosts and a lovely welcome basket of goodies. We have a lovely few days exploring Pembrokshire. If you want a beautiful house to stay in look no further.

We couldn’t have picked a nicer place to stay for our first trip to Pembrokeshire with friends and family. Zinc was perfect in every way for us, the decor is quirky but really well thought out, the kitchen is well equipped the beds are very comfortable and there was plenty of information on what to do and where to go. The barns are well positioned for trips to the coast ,castles and the national park, everywhere we went was within easy reach. Karen and Rob provided an extremely warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble if we had to contact them for any reason. They truly have thought of just about everything including a welcome pack containing local produce and home made goodies for us and the dog. We had plenty of space both inside and out so we never felt overcrowded. The weather, surprisingly ,was glorious so we were able to make good use of the bbq area and the beautiful gardens. We had a large dog with us and she was well catered for too from bowls, blankets, treats and outdoor shower to wonderful walks around the lake and extensive gardens. What more can I say other than we had the most amazing stay with great hosts and will definitely be returning.

From our guest book: What a wonderful place to ‘Relax, Reflect and Reconnect’! Cedar at the Long Barn certainly did not disappoint. Just as advertised, a beautiful, fully equipped barn to enjoy. A wonderful warm welcome from Karen and Rob, with delicious treats for all and ‘Peach’ the pooch. We thoroughly enjoyed our escape from the hustle and bustle. x x x Rochelle and Adrian
