Italian rural charm meets luxury living at Wine Relais Feudi Del Pisciotto, located 3.1 miles from the Sicilian town of Niscemi.
This beautiful hotel is on the grounds of a farm dating back to the 18th Century and offers spectacular views across the surrounding vineyards.
Many of the original features still exist in this historical building, but have been perfectly intertwined with modern living without taking away from tradition. Lovingly decorated throughout with an eye for style and artistic flair, this is a haven in the countryside of Sicily.
The rustic rooms have marble flooring, air conditioning, flat screen TV and mini bar, as well as a private bathroom with robes and toiletries to ensure maximum relaxation. A continental breakfast can be served to the room if guests wish.
There is also an a la carte restaurant, Il Palmento di Feudi, on site which serves regional cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner, while those staying can also enjoy the sauna and its facilities. Outside the patio and seating areas are perfect for enjoying the afternoon sun or an evening drink while taking in the breathtaking views.
Wine Relais Feudi Del Pisciotto also sits right at the entrance to the Sughereta di Niscemi Nature Reserve, considered one of the most charming natural sites in all of Sicily. The 3,000 hectares incorporates the impressive forest of Quercus suber, with its mixture of trees and wildlife that are typical to the Mediterranean.
Although the property is located in the serene countryside of Italy, the coastline is only 12.4 miles away. Here travellers can find the historical city of Gela and its Ancient Greek and Roman influences. They can visit the Greek Acropolis, Regional Archaeological Museum, Cathedral and many other cultural landmarks.
A little further afield is Caltagirone, which is just south of Catania and is famous for its production of pottery and terracotta. Here there are also a host of bars, restaurants and cafes, as well as markets to try traditional Italian olives, grapes and other produce.
There is also the World Heritage Site of Piazza Armerina, an art city that dates back to the 4th Century A.D.
