Set within a beautiful 22-acre private estate in the south east of Cornwall, The Roost is a great choice for groups of families and friends looking for a tranquil and picturesque holiday getaway. The Roost is comprised of two holiday cottages, Tree Barn and the slightly larger Owl Barn, separated by a small garden. There's plenty of room for everyone to eat together and relax in the spacious living area of Owl Barn while still getting the benefits of your own private space. Each cottage also has a hot tub in its own private garden, perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the Cornish coast and countryside.
The large kitchen and the galleried living area of Owl Barn provide the social hub of The Roost. There's a fully-equipped kitchen where you can rustle up dinner for everyone using fresh local produce from one of the great farm shops nearby. You'll get 10 around the table and after dinner, you can all retreat upstairs to the comfortable sofas in the living area to relax, play games or simply enjoy the stunning views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. This cottage has three spacious bedrooms, one with French doors leading straight out onto the deck.
Tree Barn, on the other hand, is a more cosy and intimate cottage for couples or smaller families who want their own space. It's bright and airy with natural light streaming in through the windows and with stunning views of the valley. The ground floor is open-plan, with its own fully-equipped kitchen, living and dining space. There are two ensuite bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with the option of twin beds or a luxurious super-king, offering a bit of flexibility.
There's plenty of exploring to do, on the estate itself and in the surrounding area. Get your bearings with a stroll in the six-acre secure dog walking area on the estate, with trails through fields and woodland and complete with benches, solar lighting and pretty sculptures. Venture a little further into the countryside and go for walks in the stunning landscapes of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor National Park. If you fancy a day by the sea, both the south coast and the north coast of Cornwall are within easy reach. The charming harbour towns of Looe and Polperro are just a short drive away, while Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow are all close enough for a day trip.
