The detail

Tucked away on a secluded and private 22-acre estate in the south east of Cornwall, Owl Barn offers a peaceful retreat for families or groups of friends. Enjoy long walks in the Cornish countryside or days out at the beach before relaxing in your private hot tub and soaking up the stunning views. Put your feet up in the airy, galleried sitting room at the top of the house or rustle up some dinner on the BBQ outside and enjoy the scenery as the sun sets over the valley.

Step inside and make your way up to the fully-equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances and everything you need to whip up a delicious meal, including some cookery books for inspiration. There's a large dining table and high ceilings open to the galleried sitting area above. This creates a bright and airy feel to the space and makes it perfect for socialising with friends and family. When you head up to the sitting room, you'll find big comfy sofas, armchairs and beanbags to relax on after a busy day of exploring. There's also a bridge that takes you across to a smaller study area with an armchair and a stereo, perfect for those who fancy a bit of downtime or want to unwind with a good book.

Make your way back downstairs to find the three cosy bedrooms, each beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and luxurious linens. The main bedroom features a super-king size bed with an ensuite and French windows leading onto the deck outside. There's a second double room with a king size bed and an ensuite shower room. The final bedroom can be set up with a super-king size bed or two twin beds, offering a bit of flexibility for groups. This room also has an ensuite with a corner bath where you can enjoy a relaxing soak after a long walk along the coastal path.

Located close to the border between Cornwall and Devon, there's plenty of exploring on offer in the area. Head to the coast and spend a day at the beach or explore the charming coastal towns and villages such as Polperro, Looe and Fowey. Venture inland and you'll find the spectacular landscapes of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor National Park, perfect for hiking, cycling and wildlife spotting. For a change of scene, the bustling city of Plymouth is just a short drive away, offering lots of fantastic seafood restaurants and a fascinating maritime heritage to discover.
