This gorgeous villa is located at the north end of the Els Ports massif and offers up a delightful, eco-friendly holiday in Catalonia. From the outside the stone villa blends seamlessly into its picturesque surroundings, and once you step inside you're presented with a comfy living space that makes use of rural charm and modern, comfy furnishings. The villa sits in one hectare of broad leaved woodland so it is extremely quiet and has stunning views of the surrounding limestone mountains.
The entire house is completely off-grid, and makes use of a well and rain capture, as well as solar power, so you can relax and enjoy your break whilst remaining eco-friendly.
Mas Brasforte sleeps six guests across three comfortable bedrooms. There's one king size room, as well as a double and a twin. All three offer a great night's sleep and the twin room also has an en suite bathroom for added privacy. The other two rooms share a nice big wet room.
The kitchen has all you need to cook up some wonderful, locally sourced produce, and the breakfast bar allows you to keep the designated chef company whilst they work. There's a lovely dining space inside, with room for eight, but guests are encouraged to dine outside whilst taking in the breathtaking views of the mountains.
Outside on the terrace there's plenty of space for you to spread out and relax. The villa sits down a dirt track a long way from the road, meaning you can lounge in the sunshine all day and enjoy the peace and tranquility of your surroundings. This is an ideal spot to rest with a good book, or socialise with your loved ones and a bottle of wine. There's also a small infinity swimming pool outside, where you can enjoy a swim to cool off in the mid-summer sunshine. In the cooler months you may wish to sit indoors and sit around the wood burning fireplace, which will keep you nice and toasty all day.
Whilst the house sleeps six, there's space for an additional two guests in the 'flat' which can be booked for an extra charge only with prior permission. This flat is a part of the house yet it has its own access, offering plenty of privacy and peace. The flat has a king sized bed with an en suite bathroom, so does not have any additional kitchen or living facilities..
If you want to venture out and explore then you're in luck. There's plenty to see and do right on your doorstep. Not only are you situated near the Els Ports National Park - which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - but you're also surrounded by other unspoilt natural landscapes. Make sure you venture out and hike in the mountains that are all around you and offer a variety of amazing views.
You are located just a short walk from a breathtaking limestone gorge that has been carved into the mountains by the Canaletes River. This is just a fifteen minute walk from your door and allows you to partake in some wild swimming, cooling off in the fresh, clean, crystal clear water. Guests may also wish to visit the Via Verda. This abandoned railway line sits at the top of a dirt track, and offers you an amazing car-free cycling and walking route that takes you south to Tortosa and Horta de St Joan in the west. You can rent bikes nearby if you do not wish to bring your own.
Whilst the remote, scenic location is ideal for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, you are also near to a few nice towns that are worth a visit. The small town of El Pinell de Brai is just six kilometres away, and Tortosa is a half-an-hour drive and has all of the amenities of a small city. You're also just a 40 minute drive from the Costa Dorada and the Ebro Delta, which are home to some spectacular beaches.
