Admire the beautiful Georgian façade of this holiday home, before stepping inside to find three floors of this contemporary styled home to explore. Downstairs you’ll find a large sitting room where peacock blue sofas gather around a roaring open fire. There’s underfloor heating throughout, and on the technology front there’s a large LCD TV with Freeview, a DVD Player and Wi-Fi.
The sitting room leads through to an open plan kitchen / dining room with original Yorkshire flagstone floors and up-cycled church pews, where there’s plenty of space for all the family to eat together. The contemporary kitchen boasts a black granite worktop, glossy white units, a dishwasher and even an AGA to keep everyone cosy. The cupboards are well stocked with everything you need to rustle up a family-sized dinner, and the open aspect allows you to chat whilst you cook. When you're done cooking why not watch the stars twinkle above you whilst you eat with a a candle-lit dinner in the orangery.
All 6 of the generously sized bedrooms in Richmond House enjoy views over the village and each have been individually styled with feature beds. The first bedroom is on ground level, a double room with an en suite wet-room so ideally suited to anyone with reduced mobility. Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 are on the first floor, all doubles, with 2 and 3 sharing a family bathroom and 4 enjoying another en suite wet room. The top floor of the house is home to bedrooms 5 and 6, with a free standing bath in one and a large walk-in shower in the other. Downstairs you can throw open the double patio doors and step into the beautiful enclosed gardens. There’s a sheltered patio area with seating and a wood-fired hot-tub just waiting to be enjoyed.
Richmond House makes an ideal base for exploring Yorkshire, with less than an hour’s drive taking you to the coast and the City of York. Reeth is also nearby, as are the stunning landscapes of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale. Foodies will appreciate the proximity to several good pubs that prioritise their menu with The Morritt Arms Hotel, the Oak Tree Inn in Hutton Magna, the Black Bull at Moulton, The Shoulder of Mutton at Middleton Tyas and The Bay Horse at Hurworth all nearby. There are also lots of beautiful walks from the doorstep, and if you feel like a spot of pampering, there’s even a spa just a few miles down the road.
