Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 2 nights
This romantic hideaway on the English and Scottish border makes the perfect destination for couples wishing to press pause on their busy lives and enjoy the bountiful beauty this stunning region offers. West Bastlebog Farm is a family-run organic farm with tranquil surroundings which ensure visitors a peaceful and restorative stay.
The one-bedroom accommodation has been orientated for comfort, rooms have been positioned to optimise the light and pretty views. Morning sun floods the good-sized and well-equipped east-facing kitchen, guests will love to take their time over breakfast while making plans for the day ahead and soaking in the sunshine in this light, bright room. Views stretch across the Berwick countryside down to the nearby coast.
A private patio area is also available for guests where, on warmer days, they can partake in some al fresco dining or simply relax and enjoy the pollution free, star-covered night skies. However, Scottish weather isn't always clement and guests will be given plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the cosy and snug living room. A comfy armchair and sofa are positioned in front of the wood burning stove, so shut away those windy nights, stoke up the fire and relax with a dram of whisky in front of the flickering flames.
When bedtime beckons, a deep night's sleep is promised. The double bed is dressed in crisp Egyptian Cotton linens and black out curtains make lie-ins all too tempting. A lovely chest of drawers offers plenty of space for belongings and bedside tables invite a stack of holiday reads. The bathroom has a shower over the long bath, it is modern with a heated towel rail and beautiful large mirror over the sink.
West Bastlebog is in a marvellous location. The lovely town, Berwick on Tweed, is a short drive away and makes a great destination to browse shops filled with local produce and enjoy some good food. Berwick is extremely popular with cyclists and the second stage of the tour of Britain passed through nearby Gavinton. The area offers a mixture of national cycle routes, Lammermuir hill climbs and leisurely quiet country lanes. Anglers will want to head to the salmon pools which are a 15 minute drive away, while historians must take a trip to the magnificent steely homes at Kelso and Duns.
