With a cosy bedroom for two overlooking the hills and meadows of Hampshire and an array of romantic features, Wagon & The Wigwam is the ultimate retreat for guests looking to get away from the stresses or urban life and spend time undergoing serious relaxation.
From the moment you step into the courtyard, empty but for the butterflies, bees, birds and mammals which call this patch their home, you’ll know that this is a truly special place. Everything has been thought of and provided for you, creating the dream spot for couples or individuals whose idea of a perfect holiday is total immersion in nature. The wagon is heated by a wood-burning stove, which also provides heat to the hot-tub in the former wigwam. Solar panels are also utilised to heat the water, as is gas when time is of the essence. A record player and collection of albums are contained in the wagon, although many guests prefer to tune into the profound quietness of the forests punctuated by the chatter of the many local birds.
Everything about Wagon & The Wigwam fosters relaxation and tranquillity in the clearing style courtyard where there is no rigid schedule or demands. Rise with the sun or in your own time, and spend your time pottering about the yard, drifting into the hot tub with your morning coffee or stopping for a leisurely read on the ‘Star-Lounge’ mezzanine. Cosy in winter, dreamy in summer, and always light-filled and Romantic, Wagon & The Wigwam is everything you could hope for in a mini-break or holiday.
With a set-up like Wagon & The Wigwam, few guests feel like striking out every day, preferring to spend their days gently exploring the nearby woods, never straying far from home base. Those venture to the nearby village of Medstead will be delighted to find a thriving rural village with a rich history dating back over three thousand years. With a past including ancient Roman settlements and a fourteenth century bishop, Medstead is as fascinating as it is charming. There are a number of brilliant pubs nearby, serving roasts and high-end gastropub fare as well as local ales and Hampshire cheer. Check out the Yew Tree in particular, or pop by the vine-covered The Sun Inn. For a more contemporary, urbane dining experience, Nosh Café Bar can’t be beaten.
