Surrounded by lush greenery and blue waters, Villa Cà Damare is a gorgeous villa tucked away in the heart of Porto Venere, within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cinque Terre in north western Italy. With its classic green shutters, Villa Cà Damare is an absolute essential for couples wanting to enjoy a spot of romance and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of Italy’s main touristic hotspots.
With inimitable views of the surrounding area, Villa Cà Damare promises peace and quiet, complete with a private drive, gate and winding steppingstone path up to the house, with its sizable balcony and lovely old stone walls.
Beautifully restored by a local architect, Villa Cà Damare boasts impressive interiors and with one bedroom and one bathroom, it’s perfect for two. Downstairs, the living space offers up a kitchen table complete with garden and seaside views, a cosy sofa and plenty of storage space. The rustic wooden chair by the window is a fantastic spot for getting your nose stuck into a book for the afternoon, all while listening to the sound of silence.
Next, the kitchen is complete with cool, black cabinets offering up everything necessary for preparing a simple meal or a banquet fit for a feast. The bathroom is smartly furnished with a freestanding stone sink and a sizeable shower.
Upstairs, the stylish bedroom can be accessed by the winding staircase. High wooden beams add an extra element of rusticity, while thoroughly modern aircon provides heat-free nights. Spilling out onto the large outdoor balcony, undoubtedly one of the property’s many highlights, you'll find outdoor chairs and a table perfect for enjoying a glass of wine, a cup of coffee or an Italian pastry first thing in the morning.
A gorgeous medieval town located on the Ligurian coast of north western Italy within the dramatic Cinque Terre national park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, Porto Venere is a quintessential bolthole. Endlessly romantic, the local area is host to Chiesa di San Pietro, a historic church vertiginously located on a rocky point above the sea; Palmaria, an island complete with caves and military structures; and Doria Castle, ruins offering up a scenic view.
Similarly, San Lorenzo Church is a Romanesque church posing coastal views, with Grotta di Lord Byron, a famous swimming spot visited by none other than Lord Byron himself, apt for literature lovers. The Parco Naturale Regionale di Porto Venere offers up some of the most beautiful island hikes and historic fortifications in the area, and if you’d like to catch a few rays, try Pozzale Beach, San Terenzo or Lido di Lerici.
