This tiny cottage in the heart of the beautiful town of Lewes in East Sussex has its own unique charm. From the colourful little kitchen to the cosy mezzanine bedroom area, this small space has bags of character. The interior is open-plan and bright thanks to the rooflights and big south-facing glass doors onto the terrace and the clever design makes the most of every inch packing in everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Tucked away in a cosy space under the eaves is a king-sized double bed on a mezzanine floor. This is accessed by a ladder which can be put away during the day. In the living area, you’ll find a comfy sofa to sink into after a day exploring Lewes or curl up in front of the TV for a movie night. The sofa converts into a bed so the cottage can comfortably sleep up to four guests or gives you another option if you’re not confident with the ladder. There is a full-length blind covering the French doors to ensure privacy and a good night’s sleep.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need for a self-catering trip. Packed into this compact space is an oven, hob, fridge and utensils and tableware for four people. There’s a fold-out table and chairs which can be partially unfolded to seat two or pulled out completely to seat four. Just past the kitchen area is a modern bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. Outside, there’s a private terrace where you can sit out and enjoy the sunshine.
Lewes is a vibrant town with lots to explore. Wander through the cobbled streets, admire the beautiful Georgian buildings and visit the medieval castle, all before stopping off at one of the many pubs for lunch. Discover treasures in the vintage and antiques shops and find the perfect souvenir of your trip. Pick up some delicious treats at the food markets to cook back at the cottage. There are plenty of events and festivals hosted throughout the year, from Love Supreme jazz festival to the famous Lewes Bonfire Night. There are also plenty of walks in the local area and the cottage is just 15 minutes from the South Downs Way. You can also hop on the train and be in Brighton’s bustling city centre in 15 minutes.
