Located in the charming village of Hooe, near Battle in East Sussex, this recently converted farm building is a great choice for families or small groups looking for a rural escape. It’s an old barn, so don't expect any straight lines, however what you definitely can expect is bags of character. This lovely traditional farm building has been renovated with a modern twist, and beautiful exposed beams now sit alongside a contemporary kitchen and up to date furnishings.
The Potting Shed is much more spacious than the name might suggest and sleeps up to six guests. There are three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, all cosy rooms with crisp white linen and neutral colours on the walls to help you relax and unwind. There are two bathrooms, one painted in bold greens and pinks with a shower over bath and the other featuring a large walk-in shower.
The kitchen and dining area is a lovely space for everyone to get together for a relaxed breakfast or delicious dinners in the evenings. The ceiling features the exposed wooden beams of the barn as a reminder of the building’s history, while the modern equipment and furnishings have the feel of an up to date farmhouse kitchen. There’s plenty of light, thanks to big windows and large glass doors leading out to the garden. You’ll also find a living room with a big squishy sofa and comfy armchairs, perfect for a bit of downtime with a book or putting your feet up in front of a film.
Hooe is perfectly located for exploring the south coast. Pack a picnic and follow one of the walking or cycling routes into the surrounding countryside, or head to the seaside for a day at the beach. There are plenty of historic sites nearby, such as Herstmonceux Castle, Battle Abbey and Bodium Castle. Make your way to the medieval town of Rye and explore the cobbled streets packed with independent shops and cafes. Head in the other direction and you can be in the vibrant city of Brighton in under an hour.
it is a rural setting but within 15/ 20mins of the above
