The Old Stable is an absolute delight. Charming, bijou and brilliantly designed by an award winning architect, this tiny bolthole would be perfect for romantic couples or solo travellers who enjoy characterful and stylish getaways. Hidden down one of Pittenweem's enchanting Wynd's and cushioned on either side by white cottages, the exposed stone and wooden front door of this tiny home makes it immediately warm and welcoming. You'll want to take pictures of the outside and post them straight away, it's that pretty!
You'll enter to find a very stylish, beautifully decorated living and kitchen area with further exposed stone work and wood panelled wall. There's also a cosy leather sofa where you can snuggle in right next to the wood burning stove. This really is a perfect place for forgetting the world outside and losing yourself in a good book whilst the logs crackle. The kitchen area on the right is small and perfectly formed with everything you could need to cook a romantic meal to be enjoyed by candlelight at the bespoke dining table.
When it's time for sleep just head up the stairs where you'll find the comfort of a luxurious king size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, guaranteeing you a delightful night's sleep. There's a bathroom with a walk-in shower to wake you in the morning before you head down to make a coffee and plan your day in East Neuk.
Pittenweem is a pretty fishing village with lots of interesting local delights including a gorgeous coastal path for big walks, the sea for wild swimming if you're brave enough, some interesting historical caves and caverns including St Fillian's which has a very intriguing story!
Have a hot chocolate at The Cocoa Tree Cafe and explore the working harbour where you can watch the fisherman come in. For dining you can't do better than fish and chips at the Anstruther Fish Bar followed by a locally made ice cream from Nicholsons! G.H. Barnett is an award winning bakery and Dreel Tavern is gorgeous local pub with excellent food and welcoming staff. If you fancy visiting further afield, Edinburgh is only an hour's drive away.
