Modern and stylish former Post Office in Warwickshire that offers up the ideal country village retreat.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 3 nights
In the heart of a quintessential English village, surrounded by thatched roofs, church spires and lush woodland, this former Post Office makes for the most enchanting rural retreat and is perfect for those looking to relax and put the brakes on fast moving modern life.
There is a spacious, stylish kitchen and dining room with all the modern conveniences needed to make cooking a breeze. Guests will love gazing out onto the garden as they chop, sauté and steam the wonderful local produce. A large dining table, with seats for six, dominates the dining area and makes the perfect spot for lengthy brunches or Sunday roasts. With more views out onto the pretty exterior, guests can while away the day, reading the paper, enjoying another cup of tea or simply daydreaming.
The pretty lawned garden has a private wildflower area, ideal for a quiet breakfast of coffee and croissant, it also makes it an irresistible alternative to the lovely interior. An outdoor dining table and chairs sits on a paved section of the garden, next to a substantial outdoor wood burner. Here, guests can sit warming their toes until late into the evening enjoying post dinner cocktails or a steaming mug of cocoa. The outdoor dining area is handily located behind bifold doors which lead directly into the kitchen, particularly helpful when dashing back to the fridge for a snack or another cold bottle.
Back inside and the lounge area is separate from the kitchen and dining room, so the tidying can wait until tomorrow, just shut the door and sink into the welcoming leather sofa and armchairs in this stylish and cosy room. Ancient timber beams criss-cross the ceiling and form a section of the impressive inglenook fireplace, which along with the leaded windows and bumpy walls, have helped conserve the original character of this lovely property. Whether it's movie nights, board games after Sunday lunch or planning the day over fresh coffee, guests will love this relaxing and sociable space.
Upstairs, and there are two king-sized bedrooms over two further floors. Both offer views out over the village and beyond, and beds are dressed with quality linens and warm duvets. The gorgeous family-sized bathroom boasts and irresistible copper free standing tub and there are plenty of fluffy towels to wrap up in afterwards. There is also an additional shower room on the ground floor.
For those looking to explore the local area, try a visit to the manor house, Compton Verney, a 25 minute walk away. It sits amongst 125 acres of parkland and has an art gallery and lake. When stomachs rumble, head to the popular nearby pubs The Antelope Inn and The Chequers Inn. They both serve great food a more-than decent pints.
