Nestled above a glorious, shimmering private lake, The Nest Glamping comprises a pair of unique timber and canvas cabin-style self-catering lodges, each with staggering views, total tranquillity, and packed with the high-end features that make a glamping holiday feel truly decadent. With a magical atmosphere in the air, long, golden days, and your very own lake, guests at Pinkfoot and Cuckoo rarely feel the need to leave the quiet, private patch of land that is home to these two stunning homes.
Ideal for groups of friends, multi-generational families, and groups of couples, each lodge can accommodate six guests, as well as squeezing in up to two cots. A king sized master bedroom, twin singles and a cabin-style bunk bed mean that no matter what configuration of friends or family you bring, they’ll be able be comfortable and well-rested at The Nest Glamping. Each lodge has a spacious and beautifully designed main living space, arranged around a lovely wood-burning stove. The top can be used as a hob, although electric hobs are also found inside, and there is a built-in oven compartment. Internally, the walls are finished in timber, and roll-up, roll-down canvas walls can be deployed or brought up to create a space which can be exposed to the light and breeze from the lake, or closed off to create more inside living space.
Fully plumbed in bathrooms, lashings of how water, complimentary toiletries and fluffy white towels mean that there are no compromises with this glampsite. Many guests find that the dream spot for a glass of wine is the egg-shaped bath tub mounted outdoors, on the timber veranda of each lodge. Sitting in the open air, with the tweeting of the birds, the light on the lake, and the soft bubbles all around after a long day of walking is simply an unbeatable experience which is guaranteed to leave you restored and relaxed.
Whether you’re a young family, a pair of couples, an older friend group or a combination of all three, there is so much fun to be had in the surrounding area. Nearby Burghley House is one of the finest examples of architecture from the first Elizabethan age, while Peterborough Cathedral is brilliantly preserved. Youngsters will have a grand day out at Rutland Aqua Park, and ought to visit the endless activities and excitement of Sacrewell Farm, while older guests will love The White Hart in Ufford with its fantastic fish and chips and local ales. Another mainstay is the gorgeous Paper Mills, right on the river in Wansford.
