Nestled at the foot of a dreamy fell in the heart of the stunning Lake District, guests can spend days immersing themselves in the clean air, expansive skies and natural world before returning to relax in this delightful traditional cottage. From the moment visitors set eyes on this property they will be enchanted by its charming location. The white-washed, slate-roofed cottage sits surrounded by open countryside, sheep-filled fields and a beautiful oak tree which casts welcome shade on warm summer days.
A dry-stone wall surrounds the pretty garden, where a raised deck, with pretty plants and flowers, has an outdoor seating area, ideal for morning coffee while taking in the magnificent views. The garden wraps around the property and a barbecue and a further dining set, with enough space for all the guests, can be found to the side of the cottage.
On entry, through the stone porch way, guests find themselves in a beautiful open-plan living and dining area. A large comfy corner sofa is ideally positioned facing the great views and next to a stunning inglenook fireplace, complete with a wood burner for cosy nights in. Wooden beams run across the white-washed ceiling and stylishly compliment the wooden floorboards.
A large dining table sits to the side where visitors can enjoy dinner with friends, play games or simply catch up over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. There are two further lounges (both with television sets and deep roomy sofas) for those wishing to take some alone time. The summer lounge is a must for enjoying the light of long summer days while the winter lounge, with its wood burner and blankets, is a cosy snug to enjoy a night cap or read a book. Through to the kitchen and this bright, spacious, well-equipped room will inspire even the most reluctant cooks. It has bright blue cupboards, a flag stone floor and a large kitchen island for chopping and chatting.
After long days exploring, guests will be thrilled to retire to the stylish bedrooms. There are six to chose from, three have magnificent en-suites all thoughtfully designed, one super king with ensuite, one king size ensuite, one double ensuite, one standard double and two twin rooms. There is further family bathroom with a walk in shower and bath tub. Downstairs there is a small cloakroom.
The Low House could not be situated in a better location. Just six miles from Bowness, this pretty lakeside town is a great place for picking up supplies and local specialities, as well as walking and wet weather gear. A lovely local pub, The Hare and Hounds, is just a 15 minute walk away but the area boasts an abundance of great eateries, from cosy, traditional pubs and cafes to Michelin-starred restaurants.
