Nestled in the castle’s 275 acre estate, shaded by woodlands and bordered by lakes, the 22 three-storey lodges have breath taking views across the stunning grounds. Each stylish lodge is individual in design but all provide a luxuriously furnished sanctuary from which to enjoy an idyllic, indulgent countryside escape.
Built from local granite and with beautiful vaulted oak ceilings, each self-catering lodge sleeps up to eight people, (with a maximum of six adults). Inside the contemporary accommodation, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen; an open plan lounge and dining area with a cosy fire, TV and DVD player; and three ensuite bedrooms, creating a welcoming home from home. There are also added extras, such as bath robes, slippers and complimentary luxury toiletries, to make your stay even more special.
The private outside space is just as impressive as the inside, with the choice of a balcony offering spectacular views across the estate to Dartmoor National Park, and a secluded decked terrace with a BBQ (available April – October) and outdoor furniture. Here you can relax and while away a few happy hours, listening to the beautiful birdsong.
As a guest of The Lodges, which are just a short walk from the castle, you can also enjoy the luxurious spa facilities at Bovey Castle. And for children, there’s a play area with swings, a slide and a trampoline. You can also take part in family activities such as collecting eggs from the castle’s hens and visiting the resident ferrets.
With 275 acres of castle grounds to explore, there really is no need to leave the peace and quiet of the estate, but if you want to venture further afield, both Exeter, with its gothic cathedral, and the historic port city of Plymouth, are within easy driving distance.
