Nestled in the rolling wooded greenery of West Wales, The Forge is a beautiful rural cottage with historic charm and total tranquility, recently restored to a high standard inside and out. With a romantic mezzanine sleeping platform, wood-burning stove and a fenced-in garden with raised decking area, The Forge is the quintessential country escape, truly magical in every season.
Following a lengthy restoration which has brought contemporary comfort to this picturesque home, The Forge now benefits from a high-end fitted kitchen and world class appliances. From the Lavazza coffee machine to the halogen hob and Denby kitchenware, everything about the space is now a delight to cook with, whether you're preparing a romantic meal with local ingredients or a fry up to set you up for a long day of hiking.
Also renovated was the ground floor bathroom, which now boasts a walk-in Mira shower and a unique timber Japanese dipping tub for the ultimate evening relaxation, lit by candles on the window sill. The bedroom is perched high overhead, on a purpose-designed mezzanine sleeping platform accessed by a spiral staircase (not suitable for people with limited mobility.) For outside space, guests have a stunning wooden decking area with furniture for dining al-fresco, as well as a fenced-off garden, ideal for guests with dogs.
The Forge is the ultimate romantic destination all year round, with everything that a couple could possibly need for a mini-break in stunning surroundings. Pack a picnic and take a lengthy gander through the fairytale woodlands or drive out for a trip to the beach. During the summer months, guests love to throw open the french doors out onto the decking, and take in the long summer evening light, and in the autumn and winter, snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove to watch a movie on the Smart TV, or listen to your favourite albums on the Bluetooth speaker.
The region is first and foremost a rural wonderland and anybody who loves the outdoors is guaranteed to have the time of their life here. With its mossy rocks, plunging hillsides and extraordinary lichen formations, the nearby Ty Canol forms one of the largest ancient woodlands in West Wales.
For a coastal adventure, head to the 'secret beach' at Traeth Bach for a scramble down the cliffs and an isolated swim. The hike to the Ffynone waterfall is a truly unique experience and is recommended for anybody looking for a wild swim in extraordinary surroundings. The region is also home to a long-established craft tradition, and there are Creative Workshops for women run on-site on various dates throughout the year.
