Right in the midst of the popular West End of Edinburgh, Scotland’s thriving capital city, The Edinburgh Mews House at the West End is a stylish and ultra-contemporary self-catering house with an urban aspect and rich history. Owned by the same family for three generations, and originally built as a stable building for the horses of wealthy aristocrats, The Edinburgh Mews house is a light-filled two bedroom property which is ideal for friends and families looking to spend time in one of the most exciting and architecturally beautiful cities in the United Kingdom.
In many ways the quintessential British mews house, the property is located off a quiet cobbled lane, minutes from the city centre. With a private adjoining garage, rare in such a central house, the property has off-road parking for a single vehicle. Arranged over two floors, the upper storey is accessed via a lovely wrought iron staircase.
Inside, the main living space is light filled and modern, featuring Habitat furniture and finished in hardwood flooring and whitewashed walls. Set back and partially open-plan, a sleek, space-age kitchen comes with everything you need to prepare a delicious meal for your loved ones. The dining table is low and long, with a Scandinavian style bench running along it. Also in this space you’ll find soft modern furniture, and an entertainment system which includes a Freeview-enabled 42 inch flat screen television, an Apple TV, a wireless B&W speaker and a selection of books and games for guests wanting to unplug during their time away.
One feature of The Edinburgh Mews house which makes it ideal for groups of two couples is that the two en-suite bedrooms are found on either floor, meaning each pair has their own space, and don’t share bathroom amenities. Each of the bedrooms is equally nice, equipped with a comfortable double bed, modern furnishings, and either a en-suite shower room or en-suite bathroom.
Visitors flock to the ancient and picturesque city of Edinburgh throughout the year for a multitude of reasons. With its world-famous literary and theatre festivals, Edinburgh is a popular destination for cultural tourists, who also enjoy the many galleries and art exhibitions which the city is famous for. As a jumping-off spot from which to explore the rugged northern regions, Edinburgh is ideal. The Mews House is perfectly located to take advantage of everything the city centre has to offer without needing a vehicle. For those making their first trip to Edinburgh, climbing up Arthur’s Seat is a must. Edinburgh Castle is also well worth a visit, as is the Royal Mile and the Firth of Forth.
The Mews is within walking distance from Princes Street. Independent coffee shops like Cairngorm Coffee are nearby, Forage & Chatter and many other world class restaurants are a stone's throw away. If you want to enjoy a refined drink than visit Le Di-Vin or Panda & Sons just to name a few. Need time to relax and unwind? How about some yoga at Calm on Canning Street, a true wellness sanctuary.
