  The Detail...

In the heart of a 65 acre tract of private forest stands The Den, an extraordinary contemporary detached house with high end amenities and three bedrooms for up to six guests. Designed and built with a minimal ecological impact on the surrounding area, The Den at Paradise Pines has made use of recycled materials where available, and is replete with green technology to ensure that guests can enjoy an environmentally sustainable stay without compromising on luxury.

In a tranquil woodland in Devon, removed from the activity and strife of urban centres, The Den offers a truly serene and restorative holiday for individuals, families, friends or couples. Finished in clean, sharp lines, with a monochrome pallet and contemporary, understated aesthetic, The Den is a joy to inhabit.

A main central living space enjoys access to a timber decking through bi-fold doors, creating a sense of unity between the indoors and the forest outside. A high-spec kitchen comes with everything youll need, no matter how ambitious or expansive your culinary plans are, with a Rangemaster induction cooker, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, all set among the granite workstations in the open-plan double height kitchen.

Upstairs, the master bedroom enjoys views of the surrounding forest, an absolute delight in all four seasons, while the free-standing bath tub in the bedroom is a real wow factor. A second bedroom contains a double bed, and the third is arranged with concealed storage and twin singles.

The serious commitment to a low environmental impact means that your water is drawn from a borehole in the nearby forest, before being cleaned and filtered for you to enjoy. Stoke the wood-burning stove in the main living space with logs which have fallen in the surrounding forest, and enjoy underfloor heating provided by an air source heat pump. You can also relax in the knowledge that the roof on one side is finished with energy harvesting solar panels, and on the other with a pollinator friendly living sedum roof.

Guests are amazed by the clarity and intensity of the stars, such is the lack of competing light from nearby. Visitors are drawn to the area to find comfort in the beauty of nature while enjoying a high level of comfort and modern amenities. For those interested in spending time outdoors, youll be delighted with the number of hiking trails snaking through the forest.

Another option is the nearby Anglers Nirvana complex, a nationally renowned five lake fishing spot, where day tickets can be arranged with prior notice. If you fancy a trip to the coast, youll be delighted by the proximity of the untouched charm of cobbled seaside town Clovelly, and the expansive sandy beaches of Widemouth Bay.
