Enjoy a relaxing glamping retreat for two in this beautifully converted 1945 boat that's tucked away in its own private forest overlooking the beautiful open Fenland countryside. This is a wonderful spot for couples looking for a romantic escape, and allows you to be at one with nature, whilst also offering great access to some charming nearby towns and cities. You're located just a 15 minute drive from Ely and half an hour from Cambridge.
The boat forms a big part of the overall space incorporating the bedroom with a king size double or two singles. There's also an adjoining boat shack style building made from many reclaimed materials which contains your private eclectic industrial kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen has a large vintage workbench and a stylish butler sink, as well as cooking hobs and a fridge. The spacious bathroom includes a private walk-in shower, toilet and basin. However, if you'd rather enjoy your natural surroundings, you may prefer to relax and bathe outside in the secluded roll-top bath on the deck.
The deck is made from reclaimed sleepers and allows you to rest up in the warmth of the sunshine in a tranquil private forest whilst taking in great views of the beautiful Fenland countryside. This is a fab spot for some al fresco dining, or simply as somewhere to sit with a drink whilst enjoying the sunset.
The boat itself was originally called the Anthony Stevenson, and sailed out of Penzance Cornwall. She's been converted in to a unique holiday retreat for couples and the modern boat interior has been designed to complement the beautiful oak beams and larch planking. You also have WiFi throughout so you can keep on top of your emails, and there's also a TV.
The boat is positioned on its own privately Fenced three acre forest, on a small holding where the owners live in a 1760 Georgian property with their pet goats, horses, dogs and chickens. The owners try to live a eco friendly sustainable lifestyle and as such the boat runs entirely off-grid with renewable energy produced by solar panels.
Head out for delightful Fenland walks, or take your bikes out for a ride. There's lots of delightful countryside on offer, so pack up a lunch and spend your days soaking in your surroundings. The historic Fenland city of Ely is also nearby and is home to one of the most important cathedrals in England. Enjoy this quaint city's nice cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as some great shops. The historic city of Cambridge is also just a half an hour away and is an amazing place for food lovers, avid shoppers, and history buffs.
