Built from traditional lakeland stone, this large, handsome house, situated in beautiful grounds and with a wrap-around terrace, makes a perfect place to gather with friends and family.
From the moment visitors set foot in the grand front porchway, they will be stunned by the elegance and style of this characterful home. The entrance way which leads to a quiet snug, with wood panelling and an original fireplace, and a hallway which takes guests to the spectacular living room. This spacious room has an abundance of comfy seating and stunning views over the fells can be enjoyed from the box-bay windows and French Doors. A large television provides entertainment but this spacious room is great for games, chat and relaxation.
It leads to the large dining room and enormous table, which seats 14, where guests can eat, drink and laugh late into the night. Cooks will be inspired by the large kitchen with its push-open white kitchen units, green glass splash back and large flagstone floor. A double oven and all the modern conveniences make catering for the group a breeze, while friends can gather round the large island and share gossip over a wine.
Upstairs, to the first and second floors and there are a total of seven bedrooms, a mixture of king and super kingsized rooms, with one twin. Each room has its own modern and beautifully fitted en suite bathroom, beds are made with crisp linens and all share those ubiquitous views. Prepare to wake full of inspiration and, at the end of the day, climb into those comfy beds, relaxed and ready for tomorrow's adventure.
Hikers, bikers and wild swimmers, the Lake District has something for everyone, whether its an action packed day on the fells or an ice cream on a bench by a lake, there is something for all. It is increasingly becoming renowned for its great food. The famous, Michelin-starred, L'Enclume is a scenic drive over to Cartmel, which is also home to the unmissable sticky toffee pudding.
In Grasmere, visit Wordsworth's former home, Dove Cottage, and his grave in the local churchyard which is neighboured by the irresistible Grasmere Gingerbread shop. Nearby lakeside towns Windmere and Ambleside have lovely book shops, outdoor gear stores and independent for stores where visitors can stock up on picnic goodies. And what a better way to spend afternoon than hiring a rowing boat and heading out on the lake to seek the perfect picnic spot.
