  The Detail...

The beautifully styled interiors of this property have clearly been created with love by the owners Claire and Julius. A showstopper kitchen is flooded with light, the lounge - complete with a stone fireplace - is the ultimate cosy retreat, and the bedrooms ooze with style and comfort. The picturesque views surrounding the property are utterly charming. The artistic hub of Bruton - and its foodie delights - can be found at the end of a winding footpath. Or head further afield to the picturesque cities of Wells or Bath.

Inside youre welcomed to a bright, spacious hallway that more than hints at the stylish home beyond. The lounge is wonderfully inviting with its comfortable sofa, open fireplace and good sized television. There are DVDs and books to entertain, plus plenty of wood in the basket next to the fire to keep everyone snug on a cosy night in.

The large kitchen diner is the absolute heart of the home. Double height ceilings and vast windows elevate the kitchen space to be magazine-worthy. The bright turquoise interior is balanced beautifully by the stone herringbone flooring and the warm wooden worktops. The dining area has bespoke window seating so you can fully take advantage of the view out of the vast windows. A fabulously social space.

There are three bedrooms, two doubles and a childrens room that has a single bed with pullout trundle - so theres plenty of space for friends or family. The beamed master bedroom is simply dressed with white linens and traditional woollen blankets. Its a beautiful room with a gloriously large bed. The childrens bedroom is delightful - a bright white room with fun colourful accents and toys to boot.

Outside theres a relaxing garden waiting to be explored. The kids will love the trampoline and wild nature of the garden - the perfect spot for a game of hide and seek perhaps?

The local town of Bruton is just a 40 minute stroll away. Its a small town but is fast becoming an artistic hub. Hauser & Wirth is a world-class contemporary gallery and arts centre that set up here in 2014. Essentially its an art gallery on a farm with a fabulously landscaped garden, gift shop and restaurant. Further afield is the wonderful cathedral city of Wells and Longleat safari park.

Helen James says...
"We had a wonderful stay at The Barn. There was ample space for our family of 5. We loved the log fire in the living room, the open plan kitchen/diner with gorgeous views and the super comfy beds. The kitchen was perfect for cooking family dinners but we also enjoyed dining out at The Chapel in Bruton. The village is picturesque and our youngest enjoyed borrowing books from the local red telephone box - stacked with books for locals to borrow & swap. We enjoyed some muddy countryside walks from the house and the nearby National Trust properties. There are laundry facilities at the Barn if needed and a great utility room to keep wellies & waterproofs. We also had great days out in nearby Wells and Frome but the children were keen to get back to The Barn to chill!
Be warned - it is hard to leave. This is a truly beautiful place!"

Jenny says...
"We had a brilliant stay at The Barn. It's such a beautiful house - the kitchen especially is amazing with a very sociable layout for cooking and relaxing and the huge windows looking out onto the countryside (plus cosy underfloor heating)! Everything is finished to a very high standard and Claire also left us some lovely welcome gifts. It's a short and easy drive to Bruton (we ate some great food there), Castle Cary and Ditcheat among others - would definitely recommend a stay here!"
