The Barn is set on the grounds of a Georgian lodge, perfectly positioned within the beautiful South Downs National Park. Here, guests will be able to enjoy some well earned peace and quiet within the confines of this wonderfully restored stay. Should you wish to explore the surrounding countryside or take a day trip to the city of Winchester, then this is the perfect spot. If you would rather stay put and soak up the serene setting, then that's fine too. You can even arrange for some relaxing spa treatments. This Georgian gem is an idyllic stay, perfect for solo travellers, friends, and couples alike.
The Barn has been lovingly renovated by the owners into a gorgeous stay that perfectly blends the rustic and the contemporary. The walls are of whitewashed timber, as is the vaunted timber beamed ceiling. The oak floors are heated while the linens and furnishings are of the highest quality. There is a comfy king size bed - which can be separated into twins - and there are two cosy armchairs also. In the bathroom there is a shower and bath. A Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer, microwave and egg cooker are all provided, as are breakfast provisions. The kitchen also has a small oven and grill and a single hob along with a number of pans. Mod cons include a TV, Chrome Cast, WiFi and Sonos Music System. Step through the French doors where you can sit at the coffee table and enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside. Guests are welcome to fire up the chiminea and enjoy a BBQ.
The Barn is perfectly positioned for those who enjoy the great outdoors. The area contains a number of hiking and cycle trails. There is a footpath just off the property which will take you to the famous "Pub with no Name" in an hour. For the thrill seekers, the Queen Elizabeth Country Park is a great spot for mountain biking. The Barn is also set within the boundaries of the South Downs National Park. Why not take a walk along the 100-mile long South Downs Way? Also nearby are Jane Austen’s house at Chawton (four miles), Gilbert White’s House (six miles), The Grange Opera at Northington, and National Trust property Hinton Ampner. Petersfield, Alresford, Alton, and the historic city of Winchester are all nearby.
