This wonderfully welcoming, bespoke hut is packed full of character and offers a fun getaway in a spectacular setting. Nestled in the farmland of a seven acre small holding in rural Somerset, you may feel like you’re hidden away from the world, but the local village’s countryside pubs and convenience store are just a short stroll away.
Stepping inside the bright and airy studio-style accommodation, you’ll soon see how The Coop got its name as you spot the subtle, chicken print fabrics and pictures dotted throughout. Everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay can be found within these four walls.
The kitchen area, with its wooden worktops and vintage Belfast sink, is full of country charm. Here you’ll find an oven, electric hobs, microwave, fridge and cooking utensils, making rustling up a rustic spread a breeze. At one end of hut, sits the spotless ensuite bathroom, with shower, WC and hand basin, and at the other end is the comfy double bed.
Opening the front door, the wooden steps will lead you down to your own private outdoor area, which boasts a well maintained lawn and home-grown herbs to pick fresh and add to your cooking. There’s also the all-important table for two, where you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee or an alfresco meal, and a fire pit to keep you warm in the evening as you enjoy a spot of stargazing.
The farm’s pet piglets, Bramley and Pippin, can be seen in the close distance and you’ll also be able to watch the free range chickens roam. Beyond that, are far-reaching, picturesque views of rural parkland, making this outdoor haven the perfect place to relax and unwind.
If you can tear yourself away from your secluded retreat, the village of Curry Rivel is on your doorstep. Here you can enjoy a hearty meal at one of the two fabulous pubs, visit the charming tearoom and stock up on supplies at the convenience store. There are also countless public footpaths for exploring the local countryside and spotting birds and other wildlife, a local cider farm offering tours and tastings, and nearby pottery lessons.
