Whether gazing over the clear night skies of the national park, enjoying toasting marshmallows by the fire pit or soaking it up in the sauna, Tarset Tor guarantees relaxation at every opportunity.
Guests can choose from an array of stylish Bunkhouses, built with timber, that each offer an impressive experience amidst the Northumberland greenery. The main Bunkhouse sleeps 16-20 guests in four separate bedrooms, featuring communal eating, showering and living facilities alongside a south-facing veranda to capture the picturesque Northumberland scenery.
Sleeping up to eight, the smaller Bothy Bunkhouses feature an open-plan living space with a kitchen, living/dining area and two bedrooms. Ensuite showers are located on the mezzanine level, alongside a ground-floor toilet accessible via stairs, similarly with a stunning veranda space.
All Tarset Tor properties are given access to the site's shared facilities that include a BBQ and fire pit for toasting marshmallows or enjoying cosy evening chats, green energy technology, a cycle store and bike wash, a pool table, a drying room, a private woodland bar, a bird hide, and a sauna. All bedding and bed linen are provided, and pets are very welcome. Tarset Tor also features three campervan pitches perfect for the summer holidays, alongside a few tent pitches. Both of these benefit from the site’s shared facilities.
Nestled in the midst of the breathtaking Northumberland National Park, Tarset Tor is the perfect bolthole for nature lovers. Explore heritage at the Brocolitia Roman Temple or walk along the most beautiful segments of Hadrian’s Wall, from Steel Rigg to Crag Lough. Walltown Country Park is an equally beautiful spot for a family picnic, located near the quaint village of Greenhead, where guests can cosy up with a warm meal at the Greenhead Hotel, The Samson Inn, or the Blenkinsopp Castle Inn.
